Tuomas has said that this song is a duel between the Devil and Mother Gaia. This was song #4 in the set, Everdream and Storytime were the next 2. Another heavier song, with more of the back and forth vocals, is Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from the 2018 Buenos Aires show.

This song is from "Imaginaerum" (the seventh studio album from Anette era). Marko has great menacing tone here , and Floor Growls ( only few will notes this ), and you did it !!! AND You are the first who picked up this Van Halen Vibe ( Van Halen - Aint Talkin' Bout Love ). This song took me several listens and deep dive at first , and now I listen this song daily . Love this song !!! NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

That was Floor; you recognized that exactly right. Most people always automatically assume that Marko brings the really deep tones... but little Floor can do that just as well.

First time listening to this Nightwish track. Certainly won't be the last. I like your analysis and you are on point with the Van Halen pick up. I'm 60 and VH flows in my veins, l had that feel before your recognition. Mate (I'm from Australia ok) you are one of the most honest reactors I have come across. Nice reaction and analysis. I can see that Van Halen reference, now that you mention it. It was Floor on the deeper growl there. For next, I recommend another one with a great riff, Shudder Before the Beautiful, the opener from the Wembley 2015 show.

Marko's bass Mr. MMR, Warwick Buzzard, designed by the late John Entwhistle, but as you must surely know it is DI'd into the desk so the sound guys are likely doing something with it. Good stuff, you keep at it, well done.

Yes Floor does a quick growl amongst all the soaring legato stuff. Marco's Warwick is great. I like watching Floor on this - she gets slinky. There's some quite hidden rhythmic stuff going on in here that you may not notice at first. Jukka's doing some fun stuff.

Everyone recognized "Ain't Talking Bout Love" from Van Halen in this riff. Similar, but actually quite different. I'll rewind it? How old are you? That was Floor. You can see it on the second time through.

They have a few verse, chorus, verse songs, but most are not. I’m not a musician, but with millions and millions of songs that have been written with riffs pleasing to hear there has to similarities pop up now and then just by accident. 😄🤘

i can imagine Emppu as young, starting guitar player was impressed by Eddie van Halen and got influenced by him. An ouverture is literally the opening to a big music work in which main themes are played (such as in Jesus Christ Superstar, Tommy by the Who or in 2112 by Rush), of course often used in classic music.

Fantastic indeed. Loving these Nightwish reactions from you. Great that you caught Floor was doing the growling first time. One of my favorites, where Floor does the harsh growling on every chorus while Marko sings clean is "Yours is an Empty Hope". Even though the Wembley version is great, I prefer the version performed in the intimate setting aboard the Baltic Princess on the 2015 Nightwish Cruise. Every time I hear this, I do hear Van Halen as well.. Also I believe it was Floor on that low end growl. Both great finds. I can tell you listen more than watch.

It sounds like they both hit a low growl tone while Floor sings "dream" and Marko sings "scream". But I do think you're picking out Floor in the mix. You'd be right to vibe on Van Halen. With Nightwish, you'll hear many influences. But every riff, solo, bass line, melody is solely to serve the song at hand...nothing frivolous. This particular banger is more satisfying when you can sing along with Marko's tongue-twisting chorus! It's like a party trick!
