The Story goes like this. In the video, you have the Feel Good Inc tower where 3 of the band members are stuck, then you have the windmill island where the 4th member and guitarist (Noodle) is just chillin'. The tower is in the shape of a syringe pen and represents drugs and partying. The windmill island represents peace and serenity. 2-D, the singer wants out of the tower where people are just passed out on the floor. Every time 2-D starts to feel this way, De La Soul starts rapping and the band starts partying again. The rappers in this case represents drugs. Nonstop drugs and parties is wearing on the band as they still long to reunite with Noodle on the windmill island. The visuals of all their videos are actually episodes in their crazy story together.

I just watched the video after reading your explanation of the concept….it’s mind blowing. I was at a De La Soul concert in Manchester in 2009 and Damon Albarn unexpectedly walked on the stage and they sang the words “Feel Good” for about 20 mins!

Really the song title should be ( I don’t) feel good.
@jordansanders4972
@jordansanders4972 2 жыл бұрын
I also interpreted that the Feel Good is an overall commentary of the music industry and fame and fortune, people get involved in the glamorous party and drug lifestyle, and can't get out, the Tower is literally and metaphorically high in the sky, above the common folk and gives that disassociation from society that a drug bender gives you, and then yes, they see Noodle being happy and peaceful, but again, literally, he's on a floating island they can't reach, another metaphor for how people stuck in the Feel Good Inc tower feel. The opening few lines imply this idea, and there's the line "with your sound you kill the Inc", which I can only think means Gorillaz were almost trying to expose the issue that is the music industry chewing people up and spitting them out. Not that that's a wild conspiracy anymore.. I watched this video on acid a few years ago, not nearly for the first time, and it kinda blew my mind I never picked up on any of it lmao

Gorillaz is a 2 person group: 1 is Damon Albarn (former Singer of Blur) who handles (most of) the music and has lots of collabs on the tracks. Second is Jamie Hewlett (creator of Tank Girl comic) who is in charge of the visuals and they do what they want which is to the benefit of all of us:)

@@kafjaf6387 Yeah, but the whole of the North of England - Doncaster joined in with the BYO, where Carl Cox started out, it was the first 'rave club' in the UK and there what people now call EDM pretty much started properly with MC's, then just after a club called Howden's (google it) near Hull which was an old country club, which turned into one of the best rave clubs in the North at the time. People came from Machester, Liverpool and Leeds and all over to go to the BYO and Howdens, as I said google them both or look on youtube for clips from both if you don't know them. The 90's had the mixing with dance which started on the Yorkshire side and then the Manchester scene of band music, mixed with the Hacienda etc. I was lucky to go to both clubs and grow up in that scene

DE LA SOUL: THAT IS THE GROUP RAPPING IN THE SONG!!! If you look them up, you’ll see them and by like, “OMG, that is them!” 😂🎉 It’s a nice throwback to a forgotten group of amazing and fun rappers. I loved De La Soul’s vibe. It was great hearing their voices again! By the way, you’ll never see the actual artists behind the anime-styled musicians. If I’m correct, the creators of Gorillaz wanted a purely animated band. Which I think is dope!!!

I think the song is about how popular culture is creating a "feel good factory" while the guitar playing girl who is left alone is the one who actually feels serenity and the windmill represents that happiness is eternal, you just need to find it. Gorillaz is a lot about that kind of message.
@aleksisuuronen5969

Yes and it can be kinda extra hard sometimes to get since the lyrics can be a little tied to what is supposed to be the characters story in the course of the album. I guess also that these days lyrics in mainstream are so straight-forward that you don't kinda have to almost expect there to be any layers to them.

Fun Fact - Gorillaz consists of Damon Albarn (lead singer from Blur) and Jamie Hewett (the artist). They have collaborated with De La Soul, Deltron 3030(aka "Del the funky homosapien" to the casual listener) , Mos Def, Elton John, Jack Black, RZA, Popcaan, and many many many more. In their videos they have had acting performances from people such as Bruce Willis to Ace of the Gang Green Gang from Powerpuff Girlz. The only "band" in the world that isnt held back to 1 or 2 genres. Gorillaz dont have a genre, they are their own genre.

This song is about the things people do in order to make themselves feel good. The song seems to focus on the darker side of pleasure like addictions and habits, but then the chorus comes in and it seems to say that you should stop thinking about what makes you feel good and try to love others to make them feel good

Gorillaz is lead by a man named Damon Albarn. He was a brit pop punk sensation before he made Gorillaz. That's why he hid his face. He didn't want his old fan base to follow him. He is Blur. Listen to "Song 2". It's him at a young age. This is why I think he is the best artist. He got popular young, and then he realized he didnt want people to think of him in that way. So he completely reinvented himself. What a ARTIST! Edit; Dirty Harry and Clint Eastwood should be the next songs you react to.

I've seen TGTB&TQ live about 6/7 times & they have been amazing every time. Sadly they are no more as the drummer passed a few years ago.😢. Seen Gorillaz too, went with my husband who's a big fan. The two group members are the lead singer from blur and an illustration artist that’s known for making tank girl comic, the rest of the people are Collabs The rappers in this song are De La Soul. There’s another song Clint Eastwood that has another rapper in it as well that is pretty famous. This is a fictional story of four band members that are illustrated and it’s their battle against The music industry, De La Soul represents the evil music industry and their whole idea was for no one to see who they really are and let the illustrated characters be the band because it doesn’t really matter whether you’re a rapper or a rock artist as long as you make good music

The meaning behind this song is about you realizing your own happiness in life when you do live in your own bubble, when you can stand alone. The scary people appear as a way to show how "warped" we look to others. If you read a bit about Gorillaz it will make sense across their albums.

This song has a special deep meaning behind it. The menacing corporate world that use marketing to convince we are happy when we're not, hence the background sound is, "feel good" over and over again. That's why Inc is the song title. We hear it long enough, we start believing it. Hence as soon as we realise everything is fabricated and materials, we fall into depression as we've been SOLD a lie. The first verse. A meloncholy town where we never smile. My dreams got to catch me cos I don't get sleep. Beautiful and poetic. So the chorus. Let's leave these lands and create peace and fly over the land and be free. Love is forever, love is free. One of the deepest songs ever written.

feel good is about a melancholy town where they never smile hense the line "You got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style A melancholy town where we never smile And all I wanna hear is the message beep My dreams, they got a kissing 'Cause I don't get sleep, no Windmill, windmill for the land Turn forever hand in hand Take it all in on your stride It is ticking, falling down Love forever, love is freely Turned forever, you and me Windmill, windmill for the land Is everybody in?"

This song brings back BAD memories for me. I lived on the 1st floor of my Apartment Complex, and my upstairs neighbors played this song at optimal volume daily; thus, I bought a house so I would never have an upstairs neighbor- 😂 again. Hence, this song pushed me into home ownership.

What i love about gorillaz is because theyre more like fictional group, they can build a story around the members and relate the story with their songs which interesting to follow. Even if you dont really enjoy some of the songs, you still gonna follow it to know what happen to the story

Gorillaz is one of my favorite entertainers, the music is always on point. The animations are always fantastic, just always a fun experience. I completely understand why everyone isn't into Gorillaz because they tend to be a bit avant garde but people do enjoy their more catchy upbeat stuff.

What's wild is that Gorillaz is one guy with some guests on occasion. The actual musician who writes it all is the lead singer of Blur (biggest song is probably Song 2 - the WOOO HOOO! song).

Honestly, the combo of rock/alternative & hiphop is next level. I miss how much we got of it in the 2000s. Especially with how both rock & hiphop are genres of innovation, creativity, and having something to say. They’re both rebellious and often have a message - especially when you consider the roots of both rock and rap/hiphop in political movements and anti-authority. A match made in Heaven. And both genres the black community invented. So it makes sense they go together so perfectly.
