The Story goes like this. In the video, you have the Feel Good Inc tower where 3 of the band members are stuck, then you have the windmill island where the 4th member and guitarist (Noodle) is just chillin'. The tower is in the shape of a syringe pen and represents drugs and partying. The windmill island represents peace and serenity. 2-D, the singer wants out of the tower where people are just passed out on the floor. Every time 2-D starts to feel this way, De La Soul starts rapping and the band starts partying again. The rappers in this case represents drugs. Nonstop drugs and parties is wearing on the band as they still long to reunite with Noodle on the windmill island. The visuals of all their videos are actually episodes in their crazy story together.

I just watched the video after reading your explanation of the concept….it’s mind blowing. I was at a De La Soul concert in Manchester in 2009 and Damon Albarn unexpectedly walked on the stage and they sang the words “Feel Good” for about 20 mins!

@jordansanders49722 жыл бұрын
I also interpreted that the Feel Good is an overall commentary of the music industry and fame and fortune, people get involved in the glamorous party and drug lifestyle, and can't get out, the Tower is literally and metaphorically high in the sky, above the common folk and gives that disassociation from society that a drug bender gives you, and then yes, they see Noodle being happy and peaceful, but again, literally, he's on a floating island they can't reach, another metaphor for how people stuck in the Feel Good Inc tower feel. The opening few lines imply this idea, and there's the line "with your sound you kill the Inc", which I can only think means Gorillaz were almost trying to expose the issue that is the music industry chewing people up and spitting them out. Not that that's a wild conspiracy anymore.. I watched this video on acid a few years ago, not nearly for the first time, and it kinda blew my mind I never picked up on any of it lmao

@@kafjaf6387 Yeah, but the whole of the North of England - Doncaster joined in with the BYO, where Carl Cox started out, it was the first 'rave club' in the UK and there what people now call EDM pretty much started properly with MC's, then just after a club called Howden's (google it) near Hull which was an old country club, which turned into one of the best rave clubs in the North at the time. People came from Machester, Liverpool and Leeds and all over to go to the BYO and Howdens, as I said google them both or look on youtube for clips from both if you don't know them. I think the song is about how popular culture is creating a "feel good factory" while the guitar playing girl who is left alone is the one who actually feels serenity and the windmill represents that happiness is eternal, you just need to find it. Gorillaz is a lot about that kind of message.

Yes and it can be kinda extra hard sometimes to get since the lyrics can be a little tied to what is supposed to be the characters story in the course of the album. I guess also that these days lyrics in mainstream are so straight-forward that you don't kinda have to almost expect there to be any layers to them.

Gorillaz is lead by a man named Damon Albarn. He was a brit pop punk sensation before he made Gorillaz. That's why he hid his face. He didn't want his old fan base to follow him. He is Blur. Listen to "Song 2". It's him at a young age. This is why I think he is the best artist. He got popular young, and then he realized he didnt want people to think of him in that way. This song has a special deep meaning behind it. The menacing corporate world that use marketing to convince we are happy when we're not, hence the background sound is, "feel good" over and over again. That's why Inc is the song title. We hear it long enough, we start believing it. Hence as soon as we realise everything is fabricated and materials, we fall into depression as we've been SOLD a lie. The first verse. A meloncholy town where we never smile. My dreams got to catch me cos I don't get sleep. Beautiful and poetic. So the chorus. Let's leave these lands and create peace and fly over the land and be free. Love is forever, love is free. One of the deepest songs ever written.

They're formally a real to life band From Britain called 'Blur'. They were pretty big back in the 90's in the Alternative Rock scene.

I fucking love this. My dad showed me so many blues artists and this is pretty much just the reverse for folks who can drop their bullshit and wrap their head around it. If I can listen to Prince, these guys can get down to gorillas. 🙏 Y’all wow beautiful! Keep listening to all kinds of music! ❤

Honestly, the combo of rock/alternative & hiphop is next level. I miss how much we got of it in the 2000s. Especially with how both rock & hiphop are genres of innovation, creativity, and having something to say. They’re both rebellious and often have a message - especially when you consider the roots of both rock and rap/hiphop in political movements and anti-authority. A match made in Heaven. And both genres the black community invented. So it makes sense they go together so perfectly.

You guys need to get into some Funk! George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic, "Flashlight," "Tear The Roof Off The Sucka," got to see videos of them live. Sly and The Family Stone! Do the album recording of Thank You for Letting Me Be Myself." If you want great Southern Rock you have to do The Allman Brothers Band Live at the Fillmore doing "Whipping Post, "Might Be Your Man." !

Tomorrow Comes Today is my favorite from them. But November has come and Clint Eastwood or Rock the House have Del and DOOM. So you probably shouldn't mis those.
