I love Gracie Abrams she's got such a great voice. My personal favorite song of hers is "Risk". Was my song of the summer.

There is just something that feels so nostalgic about this song... maybe that's just from growing up in the early 90's and it reminds me of the music from that time.

First time watching one of your videos and LOVED your analysis of Gracie’s vocals! Gracie is a true singer-songwriter and her songs range from plucky guitar to fast jammers such as Risk and That’s So True. You’re the only vocalist to catch Gracie’s high “whimpering” sounds or what I would call “yodels”. She does that phenomenally well and I would love for you to analyze her other 2 live performances Gracie did along with this song called “I Knew It, I Know You” and “Free Now”. They are also PHENOMENAL and I’m sure you’ll really enjoy them! 💙 UR channel! 💙Tom

It was a pleasant sound and placed me in a relaxed place. I imagine driving on a road with beautiful scenery, Sun out, and feeling life’s stressors slowly fade away. 🙂 The first few lines she sang, I didn’t hear that well. Then remembering losing a bit of my hearing years ago. Warm, gentle reaction made it sound even better.

Her voice is angelic! Love it and reminds me of the several women I did tracks for back in the 70's when I was a session musician at top studios in NYC, Boston, N.J. and California. and the singer I'm working with turned me onto your channel that I subbed and you were reviewing Canadian bands, and I wonder if you know about Klattu ? 4 Canadians at the time in 72, they were years ahead of all the bands technology wise, and that was in the days of 2 inch tape! Boy do I feel old!

I think the Genre you're thinking about would be "Folk Rock", "Folk Pop" or in her case more "Alt Country" I would compare her to Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Lisa Loeb ,etc

I love your videos. I recentlybdiscovered the band Jinjer from Ukraine. I live in Europe, so I don't know if they've made it to the US yet, but give them a listen! The singer has such a range. From really melodious and girly to "demons must have taken possession of her voice" heavy. Yhe song Pisces is a good first listen.

I Love You I'm Sorry is one of my favorite songs by Gracie Abrams! I highly recommend listening to her album 'The Secret of Us'. Some of my favorites from the album are "Risk", "Tough Love", "I Knew It, I Knew You", and "Us (ft. Taylor Swift), and "That's So True" from the deluxe version of the album

While there's still Country Radio, with dedicated Country artists, the past year has featured a ton of breakout artists who use vaguely country-like performance techniques, instrumentation and arangements, but who are clearly doing Pop. Two artists who blew up bigger this year than even Gracie Abrams are Chappelll Roan and Sabrina Carpenter. And both draw comments that certain songs on their albums sound kind of Country. I guess we could talk about Beyonce too, but the difference with her is that she was deliberately doing Country (even if the Country awards all very deliberately and intentionally snubbed her) whereas Gracie, Chappell and Sabrina just are disregarding genre and blending (although Chappell is going to have a straiight out Country song on her next album, which she actually already performed on SNL). The lesson? Only the Country music industry cares strongly about those supposed distinctions. Pop artists these days, in contrast, don't care.

It's been a while. Angelina Jordan has returned to her natural jazz/blues environment. Via an original piece co-written with award winning Toby Gad, titled "Bad Valentine", the two present multiple versions, one for the pop radio audience and another for those who appreciate & recall the complexity of live, smokey, dinner club performances of the 40s. On her Official channel titled the jazzy piano version. You don't want to miss this.

The sound comes across processed/filtered to me, even though it 'appears' live. Too airy and breathy for my liking. Contrast this to someone like Rachel Hardy, who is equally delicate but has much better timbre.
@Ami5Jo7 күн бұрын
It is extremely likely it is processed. I very much recommend the Wings of pegasus- channel to everyone who wants more insights into todays "live" scene.

She sounds pretty similar on talk show performances. No. I'll restate that. Her vocals sound similar. The mix with the band sounds a bit different.

I swear all of her stuff sounds so over done. Maybe it's the post processing, and all the echo, but it just turns me off from her music.
