Yeah. It was definitely a great year for music. I was 15 and was looking for any extra shifts at McDonalds so I could comfortably afford them :D All the ones you mentioned plus Skid Row - Slave to the Grind Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger Ice Cube - Death Certificate Crowded House - Woodface There would be others on the list but I didn't buy them that year. They were Smashing Pumpkins - Gish U2 - Achtung Baby Queen - Innuendo Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog REM - Out of Time Lenny Kravitz - Mama Said I may have forgotten some. I bought so many cds starting around that time that in my early 20s, I had a whole room dedicated to my music collection, and listening to it all in comfort. A nice sound system, plenty of room to store cds, a couple of nice couches, a mini fridge/freezer, and a liquor cabinet.

Without doubt the most badass song & video for a movie ever. I wasn't a Guns N Roses fan until I went to see Terminator 2 the day it was released in UK cinemas in 1991. After seeing the movie I couldn't get that song out of my head so bought the cd single to which I still have to this day and played the shit out of it relentlessly. That song got me into hard rock & never looked back.

Just for kicks, check out “I Used to Love Her (but I had to Kill Her)… it’s not heavy, but pretty funny… in a dark way. 😃 It makes it seem like he killed his girlfriend - but it’s actually about having to put down his dog. I used to love her but I had to kill her I used to love her, oh yeah but I had to kill her I had to put her six feet under And I can still hear her complain I used to love her, oh yeah but I had to kill her I used to love her, ooh yeah but I had to kill her I knew I'll miss her so I had to keep her She's buried right in my back yard Oh yeah, ooh yeah, whoa oh yeah I used to love her, but I had to kill her I used to love her, ooh yeah but I had to kill her She bitched so much, she drove me nuts And now I'm happier this way Whoa oh yeah (Take it for what it is) I used to love her, but I had to kill her I used to love her, ooh yeah but I had to kill her I had to put her six, ooh, feet under And I can still hear her complain

G'n'R are one of those bands where each musician really shines. If you like vocals, Axl is ace. Slash is one of the all-time great guitarists. Steve and Matt both great drummers. Izzy a great guitarist and song-writer, and Gilby did great stuff too, Dizzy's keyboarding. For me, it's Duff's bass that really shines in so many G'n'R songs - this and Right Next Door to Hell being more pronounced

This song, representing the Glam Rock of the 1980s, was among the last of its kind when it became a hit around 1991 for the Terminator 2 movie release (and yes, Guns n' Roses had another hit after this with "November Rain). But when the group Nirvana dropped 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' later that same year, we finally saw the emergence of Grunge Rock in the mainstream. Nirvana'a "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in 1991 basically put a nail in the coffin of the 1980s Glam Rock style of rock that was still quite popular in 1990 and most of 1991. But by 1992, it was ALL Grunge Rock and alternative rock.
@EVERLYNFRIENDS2 жыл бұрын
GnR were not Glam Rock they are hard rock and they were the ones that ppl such as Cory Taylor from Slipknot said " thank god GnR cane along and ended Glam Rock
@fidel2xl2 жыл бұрын
@@EVERLYNFRIENDS - I love GnR...but they were Glam Rock, my dear. GnR was a 1980s 'hair band', just like Bon Jovi, Def Leopard, and Poison. I like all those groups...but they were indeed Hair bands (aka 'Glam Rock'). Those 1980s hair bands fell to the wayside once Nirvana took Grunge Rock into the mainstream in 1991 (although Nirvana did not invent Grunge). The entire early 1990s Grunge style, with its angsty tone, with the sometimes distorted guitar rifts, the hard rock then softening the tone and slowing down to a snail pace and then suddenly picking up the hard tempo again, and no big hair-do or make-up, just regular clothes (nothing fancy or expensive), just obliterated the 1980s Glam Rock scene, ushering in the 1990s into the 2000s style of alternative rock music. Yep...GnR was glam rock. I still appreciate them, though.

@@EVERLYNFRIENDS - YEP. But please keep being dopey and arguing with history. This shit already happened...it's history. The 1980s Glam Rock bands ALL became irrelevant overnight at the very same time after Nirvana dropped 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' in 1991, ushering in the real start of the 1990s (Grunge Rock scene), and officially ending the Glam Rock scene of the 1980s. The proof has already long been baked in the metaphorical pudding for over 30 years.
