My wife is a singer and has been leading the worship band at church for over 20 years. She doesn’t have the best voice though she does have a background singing in the choir. People love her singing and ask her to sing at events like weddings, funerals and the likes. (You can check my KZbin videos to witness her singing). Even though she doesn’t have the best voice (she has no verbrato); people love her singing because of two reasons: 1) Tempo: doesn’t matter what the song is she will control the tempo and go slow (quiet), regular and fast and climax (with shouting). I see as taking people on a roller coaster ride (up and downs and areas of slowing down). People go through multiple emotions as they listen to her. 2) She sings with FEELINGS. To do this you have to memorize the song and meditate on it for weeks. When you actually perform it you sing the song from the inside (your emotions) since you don’t have to be glued looking at your lyrics. In this manner you make the song yours. My wife has had many people ask her did you write that song because you sang it like it was your song. *TIP: don’t use lyric sheet when singing and don’t just go through the motion (trying to get through the song). Be present in the moment as you sing and give it you all…everything you have even if your voice breaks on the climax.

“Let me walk upon the waters” it’s a reference to when Jesus was walking on water, One of His Disciples called out to Jesus saying, “Jesus if it is you call me to you!” ….Jesus Called Peter out to him out of the boat and walked on water for a few seconds… but as soon as Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked into the water, doubt creeped in and Peter sank but Jesus reached out to saved him.
