How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.

This is so fun. I saw them do it live. Amazing. The guy in the white shirt is Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. His castanets in the last song get me every time. The fella in red is Austin Brown, the high tenor. The guy with the glasses is Rob Lundquist, a lead tenor. These guys are amazing. The more you kisten to them, the more amazed you get. Good! You caught Adam's castanets in the last song -- beatboxer extradinaire! Adam Chance (called Chance), Bass/Baritone (started lead here) Rob Linquist, Tenor (with full beard and glasses) Austin Brown, High tenor (in red) Tim Foust, Bass (as the iconic pirate) Adam Rupp, Vocal Percussion (beatboxer) But all 5 of them can sing tenor! It's dangerous to categorize them. Amazing ranges and diversity.

Yes, the first bit of their medley (The Wellerman) went viral on TikTok, and people all over the world were dancing to it. The first lead guy is Chance he's their baritone, but can also sing bass, but not as low as Tim, who is "THE" superbass.(dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow in this video) Chance does a lot of background bass, especially when Tim is leading. Tim is a natural bass but can sing 5 octaves which is rare for a bass so he can sing high also. Chance will do the backup bass when Tim is singing lead. This group is very versatile.

My wife and I lived in Nebraska a few times while she was a travel nurse working at the children's hospital in Omaha. We love it there. Home Free will keep you busy watching their videos because they have soooooo many. I highly recommend checking out their collaborations with legends in the music world, with Kenny Rogers, children go where I send thee, Oakridge boys, Elvira, Lee Greenwood, God bless the USA, Alabama, Christmas in Dixie, Don McLean, American Pie. Love this! This was during Covid so they weren’t even together but all at their own homes. Tim (Capt. Jack Sparrow)is the bass and was standing in a boat so he didn’t move much. Adam (white shirt) is the beatboxer. Did you hear the castanets he did in the last song?! Amazing. Austin (in red with sword) is the high tenor. He has musical theater background, can you tell? Ha! Rob (glasses) is the tenor. Chance (first singer) is the one who loves shanties and brought the idea to the group. So clever and it really lifted our spirits during that time. HF is really amazing. Such good singers. Try Helplessly Hoping, Take Me Home Country Roads, In the Blood.

Home Free's line up is: Austin Brown, high tenor (was wearing red in this one) Rob Lundquist ("the beard") 2nd tenor Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinaire, some say he is an alien.. Adam Chance, (or just "Chance"), baritone, but sometimes covers bass-line when Tim is taking the lead. Tim Foust, basement bass, but has an impressive 5-plus octave range. Adam Chance (baritone) started the medley, and the rest are Adam Rupp (beatboxer), Tim Foust (basso profundo), Rob Lundquist (tenor), and Austin Brown (lead tenor). They can all beatbox to a degree. Enjoy the Home Free rabbit hole!

The first lead (with the red stocking cap) is Adam Chance...lead baritone, alternate beatboxer, and can sing bass. If you saw "Man of Constant Sorrow" he is the one doing the diggery doo (jews harp?). The one with no hat is Adam Rupp, 2 time world champion beat boxer (he does all the sound effects). Tim is the one in the pirates hat (one of the great basses). The other two are the lead tenors Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist (Rob is a great operatic tenor when he isn't doing country:-)

No. One vocal percussionist, that is Adam Rupp. Adam Chance is the newest addition to Home Free, and he is the gentleman that started this Medley out in the beginning.

Sea Shanty’s were primarily work songs from the days of sailing ships, not just pirates. A HARD driving beat that didn’t vary, and was was usually done in a response style, the Shantyman would sing out the story ( generally making it up on the fly, rather rap style) and the sailors would sing the response, keeping the beat. This kept them working, pulling, pushing, anything that a unified effort required. The tempo could easily be changed to fit the effort needed. The more melodic, often melancholy songs came from off time, belowdecks self-entertainment. The more popular songs would be carried from ship to ship as the sailors moved. You may often hear a strong “Huh” in a shanty that would serve as a marker to help maintain the cadence. I once read that near the end of the days of sail, that a lot of the major shipping lines came under control of Quakers. Quakers frowned on song and dance, and so discouraged the use of shantys. As the shanty fell from use, so did the efficantcy of the jobs at hand spurring the use of steam.

Boy, do you guys have a lot to learn about HOME FREE!! There is so many songs to react to. Need to learn about the group and learn more. This group has 5 beat boxers, 3 tenors and 2 bassist. The one suggestion I have is to stay away from their cover of Mayday until you know this great group. Great reaction!!!

Themgent in the blue shirt and beanie was Chance, who joined the group in May of 2016. Chris the founder left to pursue a solo career and since then Chance is the baritone and fill in bass when Tim goe to sing higher.....its so cool they always have that signature bass sound of Tim or Chance. Check out their latest, a cover of the 1970's hit from Tanya Tucker, called Delta dawn....it's amazing

OK guys. Tim is the bass. Rob is the big guy with the beard that sings tenor. Austin is the other tenor. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer/sound machine, and the guy who sang a lot of the leads here is Adam Chance. He was the bass in his last group, but is the baritone in this one. He takes over bass when Tim is singing at the top end of his ridiculous 5 octave range. To avoid confusion Adam Chance just goes by Chance since there is an Adam in the group. Adam Rupp's brother Chris was the founder of this group and a few years ago left to pursue other opportunities. He recommended Chance to replace him. Hope that helps. Oh and since this was during the Covid shutdown they had to all do their parts from separate places. Tim sang his part standing in a boat in either his or his brother-in-laws boat lol.

From top to bottom it’s Rob, Tim, Austin, Chance, and Adam. They can all beatbox a little, but Adam is the actual one who does it exclusively. He pretty much just beatboxes except for when they don’t have any in a song (which happens occasionally) and a few little parts. He can sing well, but prefers to beatbox. The beginning of this was/is a tick tok dance challenge track.
