I was about 11 years old. Was madly in love with Peter Noone and I loved HH's music. Got a turntable and a Herman's Herrmits album for Christmas that year I think 1966 and I still have both. And I still love Peter Noone. My Dad finally let me get a kitten around that time and my very best friend 's cat had just had kittens. So I picked a beautiful orange one and of course named him Herman. The whole family loved him and we had him about 18 years, I love Herman the Hermit and Herman the cat to this day and I always will. Thank you Rob and Amber and Peter for giving all of us this amazing gift of memories of a younger time.

Herman's Hermits were bigger than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones the year I'm Henry the 8th I Am was released, in 1965. Peter Noone hung out with the likes of The Who while on tour. Henry was so.popular that, in 1967, at age 7 years, I and kids my age sang the song. It was so easy to memorize. Hermania was bigger than Beatlemania for 1 year. That's a testimony to how popular they were!

2 things from my memory: I got a weird little music player when I was about 10 years old, and got 6 tiny cartridges. One was Herman’s Hermits & had 6 songs, including “Henry” & “Mrs. Brown”… which was my fave. Also, when I was in 6th grade I had a really progressive teacher who gave us ‘History trivia’, ‘spelling bee days’ and… the first karaoke I ever experienced: everyone had to pick a song, bring it in and lip-sync in front of the class. Yeah, there were a lot of nerves that day for 12 year-olds! My song was “Henry the 8th”! (I chose it because it was, as Peter said, ‘the shortest hit song ever’!) I had an easier time with it than I thought - and down the road actually sang lead for a couple of bands! So, Peter, the Hermits, and Henry (as well as my innovative 6th grade teacher) broke the ice for me to eventually become something I loved - a singer! Thanks!
