My belief of this music video is that we're literally watching the moment Powder became Jinx, directly after J.I.D's solo, the details of the chaos in her head via her shadow, the way she's hammering her skull, then that moment Powder closes her eyes and falls backwards, Jinx emerged/took over and Powder is hammering the wall with Jinx's projection seemingly stuck inside her own head while Jinx is on the outside, and finally Jinx is shooting all those enforcers and the bodies fall and Powder is emotionless in the process

One of my favorite parts of this music video is them all hanging out with the creature in the cage. You'll notice Ekko reaches up and playfully grabs Powder's leg making her thing the creature got her. It just shows the playful innocence of their friendship at that time. Because later you see the enforcers patting down the sisters against a fence, Powder and Milo running from the enforcers, Powder seeing someone beat down in an allyway, etc. and how much she was exposed to as a child and why it built up over time and lead to Jinx. Such a nice video. I'm not sure if you saw it, but I also recommend another 'Arcane' theme video. It was the 'Worlds 2021 Show Open'.

As a note, Season 2 has been confirmed to be in the works! They had a short announcement video on their youtube channel. Unfortunately we don't know what that will entail for the actual show as I think theres been a mention somewhere how the next season may focus on a different area of the League of Legends world. I'm not quite sure on thst though so if anyone has the full details, please elaborate!

The second season will continue in Piltover and Zaun. From what I understand, it will conclude the story started in Arcane Season 1. AFTER season 2, they are going to start branching out into the wider world of Runeterra. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some other small snippets from other places, but I would expect the most to be in P and Z for season 2.

An off the wall type of story might be the origins of the three iceborn in the North, Lissandra, Ashe and Sejuani. That could be an interesting place to go...who knows at this point.

You say "the more you look at them, the more you see how it happened" ... Just for fun, try to imagine the feelings for those of us who had been wondering since 2013 why Vi & Cait for clearly different reasons were both running after Jinx ! It all makes sense now (even if partial answers came with Legends of Runeterra), the series answers many questions we had, and cherry on top confirms two elements that we kinda already knew : Cait & Vi are into each other, Jinx & Vi are sisters. About season 2 ? Yes, it's in the making. When ? Sooner is 2023, if 2023 I'd bet on October because Jinx was released on October 10th 2013, so for her tenth anniversary wouldn't be much surprising having season 2 dropping. Could be later, meaning 2024, probably not as far as 2025, still I wouldn't be surprised either if they wanna use the hype of Arcane season 2 to launch their MMO, if that's the case, "how close to releas is it" would be the question. Althought, for an even later release of the game they could use another season's premiere hype, releasing season 2 when it's ready :) Yes, "another season", Niccolo, the CEO and Alex of one the writters confirmed multiple seasons, without specifying how many. However Alex said season 2 would keep "the focus on Piltover and Zaun before we start zooming out off this tiny corner of the map", showing that at least three seasons were given the green light. If Arcane does keep the quality and success, which is likely. And if Riot keeps making enough money with LoL (or future games) to support the production, I see no reason not to have even more than three seasons.

Fun Fact: The creators of "Arcane", Christian Linke and Alex Yee, first collaborated with Studio Fortiche, the Paris-based animation studio who made "Arcane"(They specialize in a unique mix of 3-D CG character models, 2-D props and effects and matte painting in the style of Renaissance-era Parisian oil paintings) on the "Get Jinxed" music video so it`s fitting they`d work together again on "Arcane" which is basically a Jinx origin story.(Jinx and Vi were speculated to be sisters since the character was first released due to their similar voicelines(Vi:"Plan?I don`t need a plan." Jinx(In "Legends of Runeterra" where her birthname Powder was first revealed by Ekko as well as him having a childhoood crush on Powder before her descent to madness as Jinx, previously we just knew she was "a relatively innocent girl from Zaun, a tinkerer who never really fit in and came to a bad end": "Who needs a plan?", backstories, extreme personalities as well as Jinx`s splash art being a destroyed, graffittied version of Vi`s Piltover splash art, Vi coming out in 2011, Caitlyn coming out in 2012 and Jinx coming out in 2013).

The song was made for the series so I would say "with" it. It's really cool how they did this video using assets from the series. They aren't deleted or left out scenes. You can see what backgrounds they used for both. Plenty of new animations which were great. Season 2 was announced shortly after the first season ended. And WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE SERIES? except for the last three episodes? DUDE.... You should probably rewatch it.

Season 2 is confirmed. It probably won`t be for a couple years though. Season 1 took 6 years to script, animate and edit and they had multiple production delays due to creator disagreements with corporate as well as COVID restrictions that nearly made them give up on the project altogether.

Getting this in so that it doesn't get lost under the essay to follow. 100%, you need to watch the video for the League of Legends song, Phoenix. It is amazingly powerful, especially for me. All of their music videos are great, but Phoenix hits home the hardest for me. Also, Arcane Season 2 is confirmed and in progress. There's even a teaser trailer out. I think it is supposed to come out late this year, but if not, it is next year. There's also an MMORPG game that they're working on set in this world, so it isn't going to be just League of Legends and the Legends of Runeterra card game as ways to engage with the setting. They're expanding it all. "Powder fell down a _well._" The trouble is that... when you honestly look back, you see the seeds of Jinx in little Powder (speaking as someone who's watched... probably over a dozen reactions to the show XD). Let's not forget that she was 100% prepared to end someone with a nail bomb in episode 1. She only failed because the grenade didn't work properly, and that's just a matter of refining the tech, not a matter of the intent. In the flashback at the start of episode 1, she isn't concerned about the death around them, she's focused on her sister's pain. She's upset about it because their parents are dead on the ground in front of them, she's upset because of how her sister is reacting to it. It is there in the way that she has the absolute breakdown when Vi goes to rescue Vander, unable to handle even that much separation from her sister... and then at the end of that episode when she isn't torn up over killing their friends so much as she is hyperfocused on "why did you leave me?" Powder, as a character... was never quite as innocent as she appeared, and that's not me being cruel to her. She's a child who was... even before we first see her... was shaped and twisted by the environment that she grew up in. At no point in the first act did she ever really take responsibility for the negative consequences of her actions, which definitely continues on into her Jinx-hood. Some of that is because she's blamed no matter what she does, but... it is still there. Like, "Yes, I killed our whole family, except for you, but you left me," and to her, the "you left me" part is the bigger betrayal/crime. The undercity was almost designed to make a Jinx out of a sufficiently brilliant girl like Powder, and all from the cruelty of Piltover. Like, seriously, Piltover... as much as it is presented as being like the 'heaven' to Zaun's 'hell'... it really isn't. It just has wealthier residents, who live in cleaner environments. You see firsthand how corrupt to the core even Piltover is. Throughout the entire series, the only "good" faction, in my opinion, are the Firelights, because they aren't concerned with power or wealth, they are concerned with the safety of the vulnerable members of the community.

Jinx, or someone like her, was probably inevitable once the Undercity was formed. It's a little self-contained story. Powder slumps into The Last Drop, and glumly looks back on her day. It started out good, hanging out with Ekko and the other street kids, watching Vi practice and dining and dashing from Jericho's, and a ride on Ekko's wheely thing. Milo a beating that I guess Powder was probably supposed to be a lookout for - it's her fault he got caught. The Enforcers are patrolling and spot the kids, recognising Powder from her earlier Joyride, and shake down her and Vi. There's no crime, they're just harassing some little brats, putting a bit of fear into them. Vi is understandably angry and the two have a fight in their bunkroom, Vi knocks Powder over, scaring her, and Vi storms off to cool down, and Powder slumps upstairs into the bar. Vi comes back, and they hug it out. This time.

We just didn't know how it is going to happen, how they will make a whole story around that. Season two is on the way, but now we don't have to wait that much, because they knew Arcane will be succesfull and started to work on it quite early.
