Most people who where there say it is normaly not worth cause you get a better quality of the game on the screen ... but the hype is real but you have to have good seats the next ceremony is somewhere next november on the final worlds game..... But beware the tickets sell out like fresh cupcakes .... like starbuck's coffe... like plain rice in china .... just saying it is sold out almost instantly but the problem is if you dont get the ticket it can be really pricy cause the base cost is low but the resell price is high.... Even Ludwig got problems with him trying to get the tickets which he got but he had his own fair share of problems and he paid a sum he does feel ashmed for. But yes it is a once in a life time like event.

Just going to point out that the last part would have been said in French AND English, they always have English as a second language. That year (2019) it was held in France and the second team was G2 Esports from the European league so that is why they had the loudest roar. 2019 was the first good year for Europe since it all started in 2011 (in that year only EU and NA competed), this was a great Worlds Opening but the matches themselves were a terrible letdown with G2 getting stomped 3 games to 0 by FPX the Chinese team. LoL is still a massive event and the Mid Season Invitational (MSI) is coming up soon, in which teams from around the world will compete for the second most important trophy for the game. The biggest Worlds are always the ones held in Korea since it's absolutely massive over there.

I had a really nice time in the LCS finals in Madrid back in the day... But this is worlds openning ceremony.. Is completly different level of performance and everything. Whatching the profesional games lives anyways are fuking nice if u like the game.

Bit of information : This Opening Ceremony was held in Paris. *_Everything_* you see on your screen could be seen by the spectators. The case holding the Summoner's Cup (the trophy) was designed in collaboration with the famous brand Louis Vuitton. Also, the songs are : 2:13 : Aweken - Season 2019 Cinematic 4:32 : GIANTS - True Damage 9:00 : Phoenix - Cailin Russo and Chrissy Costanza (singer of Against the Current, that made *Legends Never Die* ), the worlds 2019 song And yeah, for me this one is the best live opening ceremony Riot made so far (2021 with arcane references was really good but wasn't live), but even knowing that, the other ceremony are also really well made, epic (2020 was a bit lacking in my opinion, but is already very nice in a context of Covid). Riot Games knows what they're doing, and how to put an incredible show. You should totally check the other ones out !

I was in the crowd this year and it was bloody insane! They had like a net/screen-like thing surrounding the scene and that's how they made these effects! This is the best opening ceremony so far, so glad I could make it!

2019 is one of the best Opening Ceremonys that is out there. for the AR (Augmented Reality) assets, they had a screen under the main screen above. it should be after 2015 every year one Ceremony You need to check out the 2021 Ceremony, you would totally love it, as a hint, Arcane got Released around the World Championship :P

It's not AR. What they did in 2017 and 2018 with the dragon and K/DA was AR. This ceremony used hologram technology so that a live audience would be able to see the same things in person rather than on a screen.

Riot has a video detailing how this ceremony was made and some of the steps (and issues) they had to go through - it's called "10 Months, 10 Minutes | Worlds 2019 Opening Ceremony". It's quite amazing to see some of the tech they use (a hologram projection technology made for 360 viewing). Getting to understand their mindset in it all and see their preparations of the show, gives a whole new appreciation of just how much work goes into their opening ceremonies. I can definitely recommend watching that video, although fair warning, they do spoil/reference things from earlier opening ceremonies (specifically 2017 and 2018 which both involved more tech than for example 2014's opening ceremony).

The one you really need to watch is the 2021 opening ceremony! That one is unbelievable how hard they went on that one! But, aside from that, I'm going to keep suggesting you watch the League of Legends video Phoenix. You actually get a little bit of the song in this one, where it is in the section that has the lines "So what'cha gonna do now? It's your reflection looking back to pull you down." It is just amazing, and powerful - hitting a lot of notes of pushing through and not letting defeat destroy you. I feel like that whole vibe of "overcoming adversity" is one of Riot's big selling points with a lot of the videos, whether it is about characters within the world or about the people playing the game.

If you really, REALLY want to understand the game and this opening ceremony, there's actually two videos on youtube that are really good. League of Legends: Origins which covers the early days of League of Legends and how they came about as a company and dealt with issues, and then "10 Months, 10 minutes" which covers this specific opening ceremony and how much work went into making it happen. I definitely recommend watching both, even if its just privately. Origins is like a full hour and a half in length, and 10 months 10 minutes is around 25 minutes.

Keep in mind that there are more viewers for the LOL World Chamionship Finals than the American Superbowl. Also, when you reach the "end" of hearing every epic Riot produced songs, then you get to step into the world of the mashups, which are well regarded even by Riot and the song writers.

If you're planning to go to one of these , 2023 is a good year because Riot themselves stated that the budget for this year WILL BE BEYOND ANYTHING THEY HAVE EVER DONE IN THE PAST, because all ready, the competitive stage for this year's League of Legends pro play has so many WORLD CLASS level Teams that will later clash internationally which will provide them with incredible stories and new songs to work on.

the first opening they did was 2014. thats your start point. there was 2 worlds before that but they were very small spots and they didnt do anything like this.

There are Opening ceremonies since 2014. Technically since 2013 but that is more like just a music performance in the sense it's not really much animations other then just lightings in a concert and the music is not that unique like the World Songs or the Season Opening Songs. So I would suggest going from 2014. Bit of spoiler of each openings if you want to know a bit. 2014: Drum show -> Clips from the game/championship games etc -> Banger World Song -> More clips and team introduction 2015: Not much of a special show, World Song wasn't that special either. 2016: Same as 2014 basically, World song was nice and had nice animations 2017: The first World Opening that was in the style like the 2019 (Also mostly all will be like that after 2017). Bit of Clips and a show at the beginning -> World Song -> Cool animation -> Teams 2018: League Song (Don't want to spoil which one for you) -> Clips -> World Song -> Teams. 2019: Gonna skip it since you just saw it. 2020: League Song(Chinese Version) -> League Song -> League Songs Remix -> 2020 Season Opening Song (Season opening Song is released in January for the league season start, while World Songs are before the World Championship, which is in October) -> World Song 2021: Covid year so no live performance but they still did a good job with it: Arcana teaser + a music which idk what is it from -> League/Arcana Song -> World Song 2022: Season Opening Song -> League Song -> World Song

2019 is a miracle run, movie-like championship I've ever seen, it almost seem like scripted because of the coincidence that FPX(FunPlus Phoenix) name has Phoenix is in it and the 2019 World song chorus says Fly Phoenix Fly. Before the last quarter of the year 2019 nobody knows FPX, they are a chinese team and it's their first time appearing in Worlds, the midlaner DoinB picks unconventional champions in the midlane that nobody ever does like Nautilus, a support champion. With this they run over everyone to championship. In the finals they even beat the reigning MSI Champions and superstars G2 who were always in the championship. Only few people expected them to win, but naturally the viewers cheer for the underdogs when it comes to these fights and they did it.

2020 isn't very good, unfortunately. Covid prevented any of the performers from making it to Beijing (where it was being held), and the CGI was a serious downgrade compared to expectations. But the other Worlds were generally worth watching.

You should react to the full 2018 World Championship Opening Ceremony. It has an animation that is paying tribute to all 7 prior championships and marked a massive point in time where the once dominant Korean teams had finally been ousted from any chance at getting the World Cup. There was a ton of hype and build up because it was a very wild tournament with NA even making it to the semi-finals which is the furthest an NA team has gotten in 7 years I think.

It'd be awesome to see you react to all the Opening Ceremonies but sadly it doesn't get any better than this as life performances. In 2020 the ceremony wasn't too much of a big deal because of the quarantine. It's not bad but it isn't at the level of the rest. Even there's a part where all the people laughed at it because of how bad it was (you'll figure what it was when you see it xD). The 2021 one was fire but it wasn't a live performance and the 2022 one was actualy quite good but beacuse of the songs that were used it felt like there was something missing. Although, the 2017 and 2018 are really good and you should definitely check them. Before that the Opening Ceremonies weren't so produced so there's not much to see there. I sugest you watch them cronologicaly, but noone it's gonna complain if you skip 2020's one. xD

MSI 2023 is coming to london in exactly 1 month, I suggest you actually come to the event finals and do a live reaction. By far this is the best esports event out there, MSI and Worlds are international tournaments, MSI is mid season invitational held at the middle of the year, and Worlds is the world finals champions (what you just saw) which is held in november-december. Both are luxurious events bringing the best teams from around the world who won their respective regions to compete for one tournament. The 2019 finals was between G2 (the best team the west ever produced) vs Chinas FPX. G2 won MSI that specific year and was favorites for the world championship as well, only they got 3-0'd gigachads. Of course it was on european soil so the crowd was amazing. G2 is the first western team to qualify for MSI 2023 as well btw :) And are heavily favorited for best western team this year as well. Worlds 2022 broke a record with 5.1 million concurrent viewers. P.S You might see Faker :) And now do a reaction to Take Over!

2019 Opening Ceremony is the best one ! It was in Paris : Team FPX (China) versus G2 (European team, hence the roars from the crowd). If I remember correctly, GIANTS by True Damage (the song with Ekko, Senna, Quiyana, Akali and Yasuo) the song had not been released before and was heard live for the first time ! We can see elements from the music video but also from the special "True Damage" skins. Like the Louis Vuitton outfit of Qiyana (the big cercle on scene, it's her weapon designed by Louis Vuitton). You absolutely must see the RIOT video which retraces the organization of these Worlds ... it's just mindblowing and gives a different appreciation of the show.

I hope you're still willing to do the 2019 Worlds song Phoenix, which was the 3rd song. It has a good cinematic as well. Though it's not the BIG 1 as Worlds. MSI 'Mid-Season-Invitational' is held in the United Kingdom this year, it's where all the best teams get to face-off before going back to their own regions again.
