I think Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" was a HUGE album, HUGE meaning. And it's a song relevant to today, still, 30 years later. Highly recommend Rhythm Nation. Also loved Black Cat off that album, but Rhythm Nation is probably Janet's #1 song that she should be associated with forever. If aliens opened up a Janet Jackson time capsule in 1,000 years, Rhythm Nation should be the song they judge her on. She blew the whole year wide open with that song. Great stuff. Y'all being from Gary makes a lot of since now lol. Thought y'all were from the Carolinas. She is literally the female version of Michael in fame, popularity, notoriety, acclaim, etc. The fact that she was never referred to as "Mike's lil sister" illustrates how talented she is; perhaps the best female Pop/R&B artist ever with Beyonce right behind her. Check out "That's the Way Love Goes" from this same album by her.

You should react to some Brian McKnight! Perfect vocals, smooth R&B, so talented and what music is missing nowadays (thank goodness he's still putting out new music every year or two!).

Check out "Rhythm Nation", as relevant today as it was then. Janet is one of the most successful female recording artists of all time. Hard to fathom she'd be so forgotten by later generations so quickly. Despite having to live with Michael's huge shadow, Janet is an artist in her own right and while not MJ, still had massive contributions to the music industry. A very important artist in her time that paved the way for later artists like Beyonce.

The magic of Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis as producers. Damn that bass is kickin😱❤ the sequencing is so on point and of course ms Jackson burns it straight down. A mark of independence here as she shows she's no kid. Her vocal performance is just amazing. On another point I love the pausing in the music so much tension there.

Yes I agree her song choices are dope. See gets in the pocket of the rhythm and stays in her range. She kills it every time.
