The art and animation on the video represents the minstrel show, which was a form of racist depiction of black people in movies, media, product ads and posters during the 1800's and early/mid 1900's.

Any real artist will use they platform to give game & try to affect change on some level. back in the 80s & 90s you could do party songs, street songs, etc but you had to have a couple conscious songs as well. There was almost always room to give a message.

My elders always disliked OJ. When Muhammed Ali was going through his legal troubles all of the prominent black athletes joined is side.
