Thanks for your reaction! Taka and Toru were involved in the production/writing of this song- also, Taka was the one whistling, and Toru was on guitar.

@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484Their Japanese songs are beautiful. Film Out, Your Eyes Tell, Lights, Let Go, Stay Gold & Crystal Snow are my favorites. (Film Out & Stay Gold have MVs). Thank you for the reaction, you might also enjoy Another Level (mostly in Korean) and I’ll Be There (Korean/English) from Jin’s solo album Happy.

I had seen various videos on this track prior to this version. I wanted to say THANKS for choosing this version as it made it clear to me which was Jin's part, which was Taka's part and which was them harmonizing. I must say their singing "styles", tones as you called it, was quite similar. Great reaction. Take care...

Explaining BTS to normies: not a boyband, not a kpop group, not pop The best way to describe what BTS is is to say that they are an artist collective of 7 korean man (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) who came together as a group adjacent to the "idol trainee system" in the kpop industry. It's hard to fit the definition of what BTS is in one simple category. At their core they are just artists who have a deep passion and love for music, of all kinds. Each of them mastering their own fields while also always expanding their tastes and abilities with each other's help and guidance. All involved in the process of making the music, all of them with credits as producers, writers, composers at some point and to various degrees in their careers. All incredibly hardworking and commited to each other and their goal as a group.

Thank you so much for this reaction! As many already mentioned, BTS does not fit in only one genre of music, they are all rounded artists that love perfecting their craft, very much involved in the writing/composing/producing processes for their music. Jin is probably the member who feels more comfortable doing rock/soft rock songs, his voice suits them perfectly, and his new album Happy showcases that. My favorite track from Happy is Another Level, and I think you'll like it if you give it a try. There's also a new video from Boracity Magazine, a fellow army, who made a short(sort of) guide for people who may be reluctant to listen to BTS, thinking it's "just another boyband". I recommend you check that out as well. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷

4:26 It's actually quite difficult to pinpoint a style for BTS since they literally do everything from neosoul to latin pop to battle rap. 😅 And that's not even counting their solo careers - if you include those then you have RM rapping with Megan Thee Stallion, and V's latest release is a duet version with Bing Crosby of White Christmas. It's one of the great charms of BTS: There's always a song to fit your mood. Add to that that they often write about unusual subjects such as mental health problems, socioeconomic issues, Greek mythology, Jungian psychology, astronomy, and even marine biology, and you have some of the reasons they have a fandom of all ages, genders, nationalities, and faiths. And yes, they're good looking but more importantly they're extremely talented and dedicated musicians, genuinely good, philanthropic people, and they're funny AF. 😂 If you're willing to give them a try I'd recommend something like Black Swan, ON Kinetic Manifesto, or We On (a golden oldie 😅) for starters. You definitely won't regret it. 👍 ~ from a Danish ARMY (BTS's fandom's name), age 49 💜

TAKA has writing and producing credits on this song, he is not featured. So this lyric video (even though it has no English subtitles) is not accurate. All the vocals are JIN. If TAKA is on this song as a vocalist, it would be during the chorus or bridge, but I don't see TAKA credited. JIN performed this song during his Live Showcase in South Korea. If the song had a feature on it, it would say so. JIN also has writing credits. I am leaving the link for the live stage, please check it out, and don't forget to turn on the English subtitles. Jin of BTS - 'Falling' live at [Jin “Happy” Special Stage] 2024 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e522eHqJnNOrd9ksi=-UUIVCgCoY6XJ7RN BTS does not have one style. They actually debuted as a HIP HOP IDOL group in South Korea (June 13, 2013), and they cover many different genre's. Also, if you are curious, please react to this shorter introduction to BTS, and you will get a better idea of who they are and what kind of music they put out. And KPOP is not a genre, it's the IDOL industry. Please use this link below. A GUIDE TO BTS (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHyskHmfnpeCbbcsi=JBABKjDSFiPnCWEF

This was written by Taka and Toru (OOR's guitarist), and you can feel the OOR influence on the overall song, just poppier than their own stuff. Taka has always said that he is interested in exploring other genres. In a recent interview he also said he might actually try singing country music. and what's hilarious is that in his free time he listens to healing music not rock LOL :)) I'm not much of a BTS fan since they started to make all of their songs sound alike after their Western boom. They had varied songs when they were only big in Korea, but now every BTS song just feels like every other BTS song. Jin's voice is nice though.
@el-ul8ky

I'm just genuinely curious. Did you ever listen to the members solo stuff tho? Like Agust D's D-Day, RM's Indigo/RPWP, Jhope's Jack In The Box/Hope On The Street Vol.1 and some of the vocal lines solo albums? Because whenever I see comments abt this, I just assume they just stopped listening and that they just didn't have the bother to do so. I just don't get how some people (or former fans) think that they just sound the same or too poppy after releasing atleast three english songs and dominating the western music industry. When in actuality, all they're doing is expanding and making the music that they love and are passionate about. Just like what they always do from day one. The very essence of BTS is still there but some others failed to see it over three english songs. Also saying "BTS song sounds like every other BTS songs"? Is such a bizarre way to describe it. How come, when from their whole career they didn't stick from a one specific sound? They always change in every era, every year. I truly think that some "fans" simply preferred it when BTS were underdogs/outsiders and they simply lost interest because they became too popular in the west. Well, let's just wait and see until 2025-2026 if people could stick to their words that they become to poppy and sounded the same. I'm just tired of hearing this same argument over and over again.

@@el-ul8ky I told you, I'm not a BTS fan, and I don't think I'm obliged to listen to every single song they ever put out. @@Xia-hu I think the reason they questioned you is bc that makes no sense. In between their 3 english songs they released BE and their japanese album, both of which sound no more or less ^westernized" than anything they did prior, their music has always been inspired by western genres of music (as all of kpop), the only difference is that they explored pop sounds more during the pandemic. But they never stoped what they were doing prior Run BTS, Yet to Come, For Youth are all track in their last album Proof and none of them are in english or pop songs. Ever since then the only members who did pop were JK and Jimin. RM went all over the place in his album Indigo from folk, to neo-soul, a mixture of grundge and cyberpunk, hiphop, suga went full trap in d-day, jhope went hiphop rock in Jack in the Box and then dance music on Hope on the Street which is an OST album for a documentray abt his dancing. V's entire album is just blues, jazz, soul and is now releasing christmas music (something he has done in the past too). Jimin and JK are the only ones you can say leaned into pop more in their solo albums but both in different lanes and Jimin's music also has an overall narrative abt his own personal struggles. Everyone has personal tastes in music, but you clearly just haven"t been paying attention to their projects if think all their music sound alike now (which you are right, you don't have to do, but then don't be surprised when their fans who have been paying attetion to their music come to correct you). BTS are incredibly diverse in their music bc they have 7 different talented artists. They have never abandoned "the old BTS" they just expanded it. It's not their fault the music industry does not praise them for anything expect for their english pop songs. When you actually anazlise their music and trajectory, pop is just another genre they have in their arsonal as a supergroup.

@@secretyidentity2833 100% this. I was going to say something similar. There's no issue with having one's own opinions, even when they're based on wrong information. But there's also nothing wrong with fans correcting wrong information for anyone else who happens by and reads the info that perpetuates bias and false information that we see every day. I bet I couldn't say something like "I liked that one song by One OK Rock, We Are, but nothing else they do has a version with youth choirs, so I am just not a fan. Everything else is a country music ballad" wiithout One OK Rock fans - rightfully - correcting me.

Nope BTS is not a "Pop band." One of the things about BTS is that they are incredibly diverse. The three songs that really blew up in the west with the general public are their trio of very poppy all English songs, Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance, which they released during the pandemic as mental health pick-me-ups for the world. But those three songs do not typify their sound at all, and they have a discography many hundreds of songs deep. They cover all kinds of ground from EDM, to jazz, neo-soul and RnB, to rock to rap-metal to orchestral and ballad songs, to various forms of pop including citipop, pop-rock and Latin Pop. Most of their music is a fusion of genres. If they can be said to have a foundational style, it's firmly hip hop. The three rappers in the group are the main songwriters, composers and producers in the group, though all members have done all those things too. But if you have heard one BTS song, then you've heard one BTS song. You never know what you are going to get with them. What they are is a seven-member genius artist collective of some of the most brilliant artists in the world. They are groundbreaking, genre defying, experimental, risk taking, speak truth to power and cover socio-political, economic, cultural and mental health topics in their music utilizing philosophy, literature, psychology, myth and religion, multi-cultural references and much more - but above all, their music always is brutally honest and tells their own deeply personal stories. They also have an insane, ultimate underdog come-up story that would be hard to believe if they had not lived it right out in the open, filming their whole lives since 2012, and happen to also be seven of the nicest, most humble, kind and genuine guys ever who have a true brotherhood amongst them. They have 20 group albums and 15 solo albums among members so far. Jin's release is just the latest one. There are very strong reasons musically why BTS are the biggest group in the world hands down. Not biggest Korean group, just biggest period.

Each to their own I suppose but after spending big chunk of 2024 discovering and diving into the phenomenon known as babymetal I struggle with this 'lounge music'. I think I've been ruined. If you want to listen to someone who is insanely talented and a true musical poet (but is a little left field) try REN. God knows where to start with his catalogue but currently can't stop listening to this kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmWqq6Z3d9yKhZYsi=n-L01NJ_HyNMGzGd

@@JeonJungkook-wr4yrno need to be sorry. To be honest I'm not a metalhead and find all the screaming and growling most metal bands do just annoying. I do love female vocals which is probably why the babymetal jpop/metal fusion (if that's what it is) struck a chord with me. It's happy metal that makes you smile. You might want to try it. You might find you like it and I'm sure there is room for more than just BTS in your listening preferences 🙂

I grew up on metal and rock 55 yr old BTS fan and I dont listen to most K-pop, but BTS Write and produce are heavily involved in their music. No two songs sound the same. I suggest checking out a few solo works like RM Wildflower or Agust D Deachwita or V Winter ahead, which he just released it is a jazz Xmas type feel. A couple of group songs like Blackswan or Run BTS

I'm a fan of BTS. I hate kpop. If you give them a change and look more into them and their music, you'll understand why

@@user-zm6co9im8u Depends on what "older songs" you've listened to and your own music taste, but they are definitely more than just a band that "can sing and dance." What most BTS fans have found is that the beauty is often in their b-sides, and even in their Japanese songs. It's all personal taste, of course, but nearly everything on my "favorites" list for BTS requires more than listening to what made it to the charts. And just for context, I'm in my 50's now, and I've seen some of the true greats in music live - Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Journey, Steve Miller Band, Foreigner, Styx, Elton John/Billy Joel, The Cars, ZZ Top, Mellencamp, James Taylor, and many more. BTS, and more recently member j-hope at Lollapalooza, were equally as good as or better than a lot of these...and I loved all of these other artists live as well.
