John Michael Montgomery was a hit-maker in the 90s and he has a lot of great songs! My favorites of his are No Man’s Land, Friends, Be My Baby Tonight, I Swear, Life’s a Dance, I Can Love You Like That, How Was I To Know, Rope the Moon, The Little Girl, Hold On To Me, I Love The Way You Love Me, If You’ve Got Love, Long As I Live, and Oh How She Shines.

I got in trouble in first grade. We were doing some sort of group craft project and me and one of the guys in my group were just randomly singing this song because we both heard it on the radio on the way to school that morning. The classroom was absolutely as loud as a first grade classroom could possibly be. I don't know if the teacher didn't like country...... Or if it was the part of the song that she interrupted which I will explain.... But she made everybody shut up specifically to listen to her tell me and this other guy off for singing a song. It was just for singing too. It had nothing to do with the noise, we were the quietest group. The part that says "could you, would you, aint you gonna, if I ask you, would you wanna" I was laughing at Brandon, the other kid singing, because he thought legitimately that that line started by saying "coochie woochie" 😂😂 She walked by right when We got to that part and she had heard us laughing about that a minute or so before.... It makes me wonder if she was taking the word coochie woochie to be something dirty and not a mistaken lyric. But I honestly never figured out why she lost it. Maybe she just really hated country music.

Y’all would enjoy his brother’s duo: Montgomery Gentry - My Town Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. Very successful country duo. Troy Gentry was a war veteran and unfortunately, he died in a helicopter crash. Eddie never recovered.
