Glad you are delving into the music of the legendary Johnny Cash, known as the "Man In Black". His music spanned over 6 decades. He was known for his deep, calm bass-baritone voice. Much of Cash's music contained themes of sorrow, moral tribulation & redemption as he had lived a hard life. He had so many great hits such as "Folsom Prison Blues", "I Walk The Line", "Ring Of Fire", "Get Rhythm", "Man In Black", "One Piece At A Time", "A Boy Named Sue", "Jackson", "Hey, Porter", "Orange Blossom Special", "Rock Island Line", "Cry! Cry! Cry!", "Home Of The Blues", "Hurt" etc.

My dad was a huge fan so I grew up listening to him Merle Haggard, Charlie Rich, Loretta Lynn. I remember trying to learn the words to this song when I was a kid. I hope your children will enjoy it as much as I did and appreciate the older country. As much as I like todays country music alot of it sounds more pop. Thank you for your reaction☃️

In the movie walk the line he sings a song that I think goes Rock N Roll Ruby? Seemed almost Rock. I’m front of a gang of girls. Maybe… know the name of that one? I can’t find it anywhere in his original music.

This North American version was made famous by Hank Snow (who sings it faster) in 1962, I have it on LP (Long Play vinyl record), Johnny Cash had a bigger hit with it in 1996. There is a UK/Ireland version by a guy named Lucky Starr. The original was an Australian version. VERY COOL SONG!!! Even if you have the lyrics, it is quite a challenge to even say it this fast. Should be a fun challenge!
@djgrant8761

Lucky Starr had a hit in Australia with this song rattling off Australian place names. Lucky later re-recorded the song but the title changed to “We’ve Been Everywhere”. This time he was joined by Frankie Davidson and as a duet they take the listener all over the world landing in Kings Cross with a chorus of “Have You Ever Been to See Kings Cross” which was a hit for Frankie Davidson. If you enjoy the music of Johnny Cash then I recommend my favourite Johnny Cash song “Man in White”.

"The Baron" is an epic, and forgotten Johnny Cash song. And the video is amazing. Also his famous live version of "Folsom Prison Blues", done for the prisoners in Folsom Prison (or perhaps San Quentin prison, I've forgotten which), whom you hear cheering in the background. In fact that whole prison album is amazing. He did at least two great prison albums for the inmates.

There's a movie you should watch, Stagecoach. (actually, it's a remake of a much older version) with Johnny Cash as the sheriff, Willie Nelson as Doc Holiday, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. If you haven't seen the best western ever made, Tombstone you should watch that first, an all star cast about my hometown. (I grew up in and all around Tombstone AZ) Doc H was a gambler and a dentist, somebody you just don't mess around with. Willie makes a great Doc Holiday in Stagecoach. Doc is just trying to get to Tombstone on a stagecoach.

Hank Snow did this first and as someone commented it was a modified version of an Australian song. Hank Snow was from Canada and later he did a sequel to this. I Ain't Been Nowhere, listing all the places he hadn't been. The Statler Brothers had a TV show for awhile and I remember seeing a blooper role where they kept messing this song up. I'm not sure if you've ever reacted to them, but they would be worth adding to your list. Great reaction and I hope you film your kids trying to sing this! I love Johnny Cash but if I had $1 for each time I was asked if I was related to him over my near 63 years on this Earth I would be a wealthy woman. 😂

You did a reaction to Home Free Ring of fire. That is an original Johnny Cash song and you should react to His original version of it.

You need to print-out the lyrics to the song, and practice singing them to the song. It will make your road trips much more enjoyable. Also, it will make you an awesome dad to your kids. Even with your accent, you should be ok. I’d bet you have no trouble with “come on, Eileen”

Cash (of course) wrote this, but you may be right about it being a part of a movie sound track!

The whole album is great. Tom petty and the heartbreakers were his backing band. Not too shabby.
