Arguably, anyone who would argue that straight up fact is either deaf or dumb. Actually only dumb because even deaf people can understand Perry is the GOAT. Nobody could touch his vocals. On the female side I would have to go with Ann Wilson of Heart. Imagine a rock ballot with Perry and her together. Be simply incredible.

Steve Perry is known as "The Voice." He is literally a PHENOM. The more songs you hear, you will understand why. He is untouchable! Neal's guitar and Steve's voice formed an amazing chemistry. Add Jon Cain (keyboards) and you had lighting in a bottle. P.S. Jon Cain wrote this song for his first wife, Tane. They divorced a few years later.

Journey is a great American rock band formed in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band & Frumious Bandersnatch. Journey had their biggest commercial success between 78-87, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist. I was born in 67 and Journey is also the majority of the "soundtrack of my youth" !! Back in the day, THIS was our Luther Vandross, Barry White, or Johnny Mathis, Jodeci....(pick a superstar vocalist that got women feelin' a certain way).... and it was AWESOME !! There is a reason why Prince asked Journey's permission befor releasing Purple Rain....listen to the tone, the guitar...especially the solo.... Shonrah, thank you for reacting to this video. This took me straight back to the 70s where I was in high school. This song in particular takes me straight to senior skip day when 50+ of us seniors partied out in the sticks so far out the only law enforcement you might come across was maybe conservation officers and they only wanted to make sure you left the area as clean as when we arrived. The music was jamming and this group was a favorite back then . Now 62 years old, a lifetime of experiences that ended up completely different than the dreams we had as we graduated that year, I still find myself looking back and enjoying those moments which really molded who I was and who I became. Your reaction sent me straight back there. I have no regrets and actually feel privileged that I was able to experience this memory that still clings to me to this day. Again, thank you for this memory.

Journey was one of the top, hottest bands of the late 1970s and 1980s. Fronted by Steve Perry, who was known as "The Voice", they sold out massive arenas across the globe. I was a young woman during those years and was blessed to see Journey in concert three times. I even have Perry's autograph, but that's another story! LOL! The number of hits are practically endless. Have fun exploring this phenomenal band.

I recommend "Who's Crying Now", "Open Arms", "Don't stop Believing" and for a vocal masterpiece, listen to "Mother, Father" all from this tour. Then just pick any song of their live performances. The classic era for them is 1978 - 1987 . They still tour today, but with a different lead singer, he is good, but he is not "The Voice". The music videos were amazing then because MTV was huge and bands were competing to win the top spot in the countdowns. Great song! 40 years 🎂 Written by Jonathan Cain. He is on piano and synthesizers. He wrote songs with or for The Babys/Bad English, Sammy Hagar, Michael Bolton and Heart. When The Babys broke up and Greg Rolie retired, JC took his place. Similar song: Heaven as performed by Bryan Adams. In that year, he opened for Journey. There is a story behind Heaven. Neal Schon dropped out of Amador High School in San Mateo. Eric Clapton wanted him to join his band but was refused! NS joined Santana, a classic rock band from my hometown San Francisco. He and Greg Rolie quit Santana. The 2 founded Journey in my hometown San Francisco. Steve Perry joined Journey 45 years ago! I grew up listening to him as the main lead singer. All of Steve’s solo or with Journey music is good. Steve and Journey have a big catalog of music. You’re always going to hear about the seven or eight songs that they always played on the radio but between Steve solo and his time with journey they have over 100 songs. Keep digging, I promise you you will not be disappointed.🥰 I have been a Perry girl since 1978 at the age of 16 and I’m still a Perry girl now at 61.
