Everything Steve Perry did on this tour was mind-blowing. He could sing ANYTHING live, and he was one of the few singers who could hit all the same notes live that he could in-studio. His vocal talents are damn near unequaled. The man is a vocal god.

Steve Perry definitely never needed auto tune. He sounded the same live as he did on any album. A true legend with the voice of a God. I can't say it enough, the best vocalist in the world. Steve not only made you hear the song, he made you feel it. They worked together as a band so well. The best ever.

Steve Perry wrote a great deal of music for Journey then he began recording on his own. Try "Foolish Heart', which is a place we've all been. It's a Perry original. Perry's vocal range is unsurpassed. I'm a Queen/Freddie Mercury fan and he was among the greatest but he was never as vocally perfect as Perry. My favorite solo album will always be "Steet Talk". Just last April, Perry was designayed by Billboard's top vocalists, yep, he IS #1 on the chart! Dolly Parton's latest album, "Rock Star", although it won't be released until November 17, she collaborated with Steve Perry! I'm over the moon excited for that release!!! I had the great privilege of listening to Journey when I was a teen and they were new. They didn't exist without Steve Perry, he made Journey famous! As the years passed, the frontman, Perry, left the band for a perid but no one could touch his vocals. He returned, only to walk away just a few short years thereafter. Journey isn't the same without Perry! In fact, they didn't tour anywhere near me in those days but they're scheduled mere miles from me in January 2024 and I have absolutely no desire to see them without Perry. Although he's 74 now, at age 70 in 2018, Perry recorded many albums since leaving the band but he recorded and released 2 albums that year. "Traces" and "The Season". Both prove he still has the chops! He phenomenal! He's still some good eye candy!

IMHO. The BEST GUITAR SOLO EVER. By the guitar virtuoso and legend himself…Neal Schon.
@reneeheknowsmyname6771

Fun Fact - Once the album was done, the studio (producers) told Journey that Neal's guitar solo was too long for radio play. And that they needed to shorten it!!! Steve Perry had a FIT!!!! And he argued with them and told them. That if the radio stations wants to shorten the solo to bring in the next song. That was fine with him!! BUT they ARE NOT GOING TO SHORTEN IT!!!! After song time of back and forth, everybody came to an agreement!! And if I'm not mistaking. I think the agreement was to time the song to allow the radio stations to think it wasn't a long song!!...lol... Either way, it's a great song with a great guitar solo!!!

My girlfriend at the time and I saw Journey during this exact concert tour in Charlotte, October 1981. I was 16. Attending concerts was the think we really enjoyed doing together. Journey, Styx, Rush, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon. It was a great time to be alive. The music. Love was better. Relationships were closer. People were happier. Life was more relaxed. It was truly an incredible time to be young. So blessed to have these memories. Thanks for the great reaction.

Watching The Voice, a.k.a. Steve Perry, live is a special experience. Especially this particular concert. Wearing my little sister's top and a pair of jeans so tight everyone can see what the Good Lord gave him, with his weird little mannerisms and his great big voice. This concert is top tier Steve Perry.

oh man, this is one of my absolute favorites (#1 is Separate Ways). no wonder they were THE biggest band in the early 80s. every girl in my neighborhood had Journey posters on their walls LOL. one of the original arena rock acts. if you listen to Wheel In the Sky, live Houston version, there's an insane sustained note at the end that sounds like such a high pitched squeal that you'd assume it was being made by a synth or something. no...that's Steve Perry. frfr. 🤯

"Lights" by Journey is dope, and "Lovin, touchin, squeezin" is the ish too. Steve was, and still is, one of my celebrity crushes. His presence/voice is unmatched to this day. No one will ever come close to what his/"The voice" has given to the world of music. Their are many talents (from ALL genre), but he is truly one of a kind. Exceptional. Peace and love 🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤🖤 1:38

Love your reactions! Journey is amazing and one of my all time favorites. I'm sure someone has mentioned that the lead signer, Steve Perry, is known as "the Voice". Also, the guitarist, Neil Shonn used to play for Santana when he was a teenager! They are just as good or better live. I wanted to make a suggestion for some artists to react to that no one else is doing. Check out Jonny Lang. He started fronting a band at 15! and had released an album at 16. Pretty much all his songs are so great, but check out Lie to Me or Still Raining. It's a type of music I haven't seen on your channel so far, but I think you will totally dig it!
