Have you reacted to Dire Straits Sultans of Swing live at the Alchemy video? If you haven’t please do, you won’t regret it. Like this they’re having a blast playing and they have phenomenal skills just like Kansas. In fact these are two of the best performances I’ve ever seen.

I just found your channel. I've been a "Kansas" fan for almost 50 years. The guy with the beard, Robby Steinhardt (R.I.P.), was a classically-trained violinist, but this song is one of the few they recorded without his violin. I recommend reacting to "Song for America", "Miracles Out of Nowhere", "The Wall", and " Dust In the Wind" next. Also, may I suggest a band that you haven't reacted to yet? The band is "Boston", and I recommend the songs "Foreplay / Long Time" and "More Than a Feeling".

An absolute banger of a song. I always forget I'm old now, so when the guitar comes in, I start headbanging. Bad, bad idea...

Back when they toured this album for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks Colorado(God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 300 miles each way with roughly $1 a gallon for gas on bikes. Hell yeah.😎😎 I've seen them since then with the still living, replacement and new band members in Reno (Harrah's former outdoor venue) Still killin' it. I still have this LP./Album. "Point of Know Return" and "Dust in the Wind" are two other awesome songs from that era 45 years ago. They're still played on classic rock radio. "Surely Heaven waits for you"😇 I like watching reviewer's reaction as it keeps getting better.🤩

I saw Kansas in the early 90s in St Louis MO at Mississippi nights, Kerry livgren was there, he was wearing (if I remember the colors correctly) a red shirt with yellow stripes and yellow suspenders, it was a great show.

Classic 70's rock. I love that sound. I think they had another hit from this album but not much more commercial success after this. I do remember that they had a lot of turnover in the band. Not sure if they kept same singers though.

Think about this ..I think this prog rock band was talking about the returning veterans of war. In particular, the Vietnam War. Think about all the chord changes and how they could symbolize all the emotions of PTSD. The horror, the fear, the sleepless nights filled with hallucinations and cold sweat. Think about the anger, the sadness, the loneliness, the drugs, the abject pain of the marches through jungles, the hunger, the sheer exhaustion. Then the lyrics..... Many say I am nuts because the band members say it is a " spiritual journey." Ok...right out of the pits of hell that war is. After the Vietnam War, the returning military in particular, were spit on, reviled. Cursed like they wanted to go to that place and be crushed by emotions and bullets. And these boys, mere boys, were DRAFTED for crying out loud. Like they wanted to go. But our leftist dumb college smart asses crucified them for " participating," like they had a choice. This song, I believe, fits the very definition of PTSD. Visit the song and lyrics again with this thought in mind. "Lay your weary head to rest, don't you cry no more ". I know this because it was my ignorant generation fomenting this hate. It was my lived experience.
