Great Reaction!! Pink Floyd got the name from two blues musicians they liked, "Pink" Anderson and "Floyd" Council. The story behind this song is that bass player Roger Waters was having stomach pain before a show. A doctor came and gave him a shot for the pain, the result of the shot was that Roger barely remembered playing at the show. He was "Comfortably Numb". Roger left Pink Floyd to go solo. The bass player in the video is Guy Pratt.

The show that Roger got the shot was the June 77 Animals tour at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. It was my first time seeing them, and I remember my 17 year old self thought it was the greatest show ever. Who knew Roger was under the weather? Nobody, lol.

Angel you have come to the great divide of music I am friends with Roger and thus the band you are listening to is great for listening to but if you ever take a deeper dive into the band you will understand that I still stand with Roger and after he left the band it was never the same sorry Tom but I love that the music still goes through to the people even though it's ten different guys writing it to replace Roger 😮 but it's still great to hear but we won't hear my favorite PF songs on here it's shine on your crazy diamond all the parts 😂😆 but let's just let the music do the talking

This was one of the very first “computerized” light shows. It came at a time (mid-90’s) when nobody knew what a ‘computer’ was, and had no idea what computers could do. As a result, this concert was LITERALLY INDESCRIBABLE to anyone who wasn’t there. You had no words, no way of describing what Pink Floyd did that night, because no one had ever seen a performance like it that you could compare it to. As impressive as it looks now, it was fvcking MIND-BLOWING to experience back then.

Every time I watch this video, it mesmerizes me even though I have heard the song a thousand times. I'm 63 yo and been a Pink Floyd fan since my older brother bought their Dark Side of the Moon 8-track tape in 1973 when I was 12. Been hooked ever since and he bought the rest of their albums including "The Wall" in 1980 where this song is from. This concert was performed years later on October 20th, 1994. Roger Waters, a founding member of the band was not there for the Pulse Concert as he and the lead guitarist David Gilmour was at odds with each other that remains to this day. Some of the band members seen in this video are just fill ins and not founding members. My favorite Pink Floyd songs now is, "Wish You Were Here" from the album of that name. It was my older brother's favorite song before he died of cancer in 2014. The words to that song, knowing it was his favorite Pink Floyd song, just brings backs memories of him and just makes me weep like David Gilmour's lead guitar in this Solo. When I do hear it, I tell my brother, "Wish You Were Here". Hopefully Angel, if you ever react to, Wish You Were Here, they performed it at the same Pulse concert that you just heard. If you loved Comfortably Numb, you will love Wish You Were Here too. "Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited)".

First time visitor, drawn by my all-time favorite song. I was not disappointed! Many really great lyrics are vague, thus allowing listeners to assign their own meanings based on their life experiences. For me, beyond obvious (and actual, according to Roger Waters) suggestion of a drug-related comfortably numbness, I interpret comfortably numb as having become separated from the realities of life and no longer being able to appreciate its beauties or to have aspirations and to look to the future. In short, having "checked out" of life. The sadness of all of this is captured in the line, "the child is grown, the dream is gone." David Gilmour's guitar abilities are so outlandish that they overshadow his singing, not only does he have an amazing voice, he takes pains to enunciate perfectly. I am sure you will now check out more of Pink Floyd. My humble suggestion is to next react to these two songs from Dark Side of the Moon together: Time followed by Great Gig in the Sky.

If you like their music in videos, you can't imagine what it's like to see them preform live. Being there is a whole different level if euphoria. Montreal was definitely the best, the French know how to enjoy a concert. Passing joints everywhere (way before Covid) and much more friendly. Unfortunately, this experience has been left to those who were there and remember the amazing ambiance and intense music and lights. The only other event that comes close, was standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon and trying to comprehend how the Colorado River created such a majestic wonder. Listening to David Gilmore play guitar beats that hands down. Please listen to any Pink Floyd music you can get your hands on, you won't be disappointed. Old Pa

What you witnessed was the finest guitar solo ever performed. You need to experience the entire 94 Pulse concert without interruption. It is amazing. I am 69 and unfortunately could not attend this concert. I regret that to this day. 😢

“Don’t let it be over”. That’s what the rest of us say every time we hear this. In all of these years, no one has ever been able to adequately describe this experience in one try. There’s always something further to say about it. This wasn’t just a song. It’s an experience. Pink Floyd is a master of this.

The lyrics are only the conscious launching point of the superconscious experience, and this piece is just one station in the astounding trip that is Pink Floyd’s “PULSE” show. Keep exploring it, and hang on to your emotional well-being, because you’re going to be taken as far as you’ve ever been taken by music and ephemeral light. This is the greatest Rock concert ever created, from start to finish.

EVERY guitar wants David Gilmour for Christmas! Pink Floyd isn't just music, it's an experience... DG has a way of reaching into your soul and tugging at your heart strings. Quite possibly one of the best guitar solos ever performed... Please do yourself (and us) a favor... react to the entire Pulse Concert (or do the songs individually), you will fall completely head over heals with PF. and if you notice the crowd... they just stand there in awe, like in a trance, during every song, they are so enthralled, living in the moment. I was fortunate enough to see them on the Pulse tour. I stood there with tears running down my face in complete happiness... Great reaction!

Glad you liked this. Dave's solo here has been described as the greatest ever guitar solo. I love to play the chords of this song. In fact I have an acoustic guitar in Nashville tuning mainly for this song. That said it also works pretty nice on Prince's - Take Me With U

This whole show is amazing. Full of songs that stir your soul. Check out "Sorrow" and enjoy that epic solo as well. The band consists of David Gilmour on lead guitar and vocals. Richard Wright on keyboard and vocals. He passed away in 2008 and took with him part of the heart and soul of the band. Nick Mason on drums and rounds out the original members of Pink Floyd. Their bass player was originally Roger Waters, who left the band a number of years ago. He was replaced with a young bass player named Guy Pratt. He is the one you see here in this show. Pratt has filled some big shoes, but is an amazingly good bassist. Keep watching this concert. There are no bad songs in it. All are masterpieces produced by this band over 30+ years.

They always thought that other bands sold their fans short on spectacle, and that it was not enough to just get up there and play. After this you can probably see why, and what they did about it, a cost of a million £ for a one off show, even without all the gear, accessories and lighting rigs (which they owned). Any song from this concert is worth listening to, but I would like to recommend The Great Gig in the Sky, where the ladies singing backup come into their own.

You just can't get any better than Pink Floyd. They are my favorite band and always will be. I have been to many of their concerts over the years, and they always put on a great show. The last time I saw them was their Division Bell Tour in 94. At the time, I had no idea I would never see them live again.

Thank you for reacting to Pink Floyd and for a great reaction! You are spot on right, Pink Floyd is an experience and it's amazing that the Pulse live show is still, after 30 years, blowing people's minds. Unfortunately I was only 15 in 1994 when Pink Floyd took the Pulse tour to Valle Hovin, Norway, and did sadly not discover Pink Floyd before I was in my early 20's. My son was born in 2009 and David Gilmour is his favorite guitar player and Comfortably Numb his favorite guitar solo. From the Pulse live show you can loose yourself in all of the songs really. Shine on you crazy diamond Us and them Money Sorrow Keep talking The great gig in the sky Another brick in the wall High hopes Wish you were here Learning to fly I am always somewhat envious of people who are discovering Pink Floyd and see and feel their music for the first time, but once you have discovered Pink Floyd, your life will never be the same.

Ok some fun facts, this was filmed at Earls Court London 1994 as what became known as the “ pulse” concert the tour cost $98,000,000 they used 233000 watts of power on each nights performance( that’s enough to power a small town ) The lighting techies asked was there a lighting budget and received the reply “ yeah” Every track from this concert is beyond your imagination, it’s a very deep rabbit hole you’ve entered enjoy the journey, and that will require regular times experiencing Pink Floyd.

Welcome to Pink Floyd! They don't write songs. They create experiences. Each song (and each album as a whole) will grab your being and take you for a ride. And the ride can take you a different place each time you listen to it. I love watching people hearing any Floyd, and this song in particular, for the first time. Eyes glaze over, jaws go slack, time ceases until the last note and they're a changed person forever.

I have been listening to Pink Floyd since high school. The journey began with "Meddle"... then "Dark Side of the Moon" followed by "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals"... then all the rest. They have been my favorite band my entire life. I finally was lucky enough to see them live in May of 1994 (Division Bell Tour) at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. The "Pulse" live album is compiled recordings from the very same tour.... The most AMAZING show I've ever seen out of about 150 concerts I've been to. You're right, this was an experience that is impossible to explain. When we left, we were all numb... no, not from drugs or alcohol, but from the MUSIC. Sorry that you never had the chance to be there, however, the video and recordings from 'Pulse' and 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' will give all humanity the opportunity to witness these iconic poets, composers, and musicians for the rest of time. I love seeing young people finally being introduced to these masterpieces. Pink Floyd is meant to be listened to in a darkened room, both while straight and high, as loud as your ears and mind can stand. Trust me, you can allow yourself to have an out of body experience while listening to the entire 'Animals' album in full, as it was composed.... I'll shut up now... ENJOY !!!!!
