Kasey is a huge Eminem fan but beside that.... she also struggled to get air play when she went solo (she was in her family band from like 11 yo). She wrote the song "not pretty enough" as a call out to radio stations not playing her music. This song was huge and she was the youngest person inducted into the Australian music hall of fame. I think she can identify with the message of Lose Yourself. PS Her Dad is playing the Steel guitar. Cheers :)

Yep. Liked the song, but probably didn’t really appreciate the lyrics until I saw this. This showed how good a song it is lyrically. Props to Eminem, and to Casey for showing how good it is. She blew the lid off it.

They're punctuation enhancers!😉🤣🤣 That's Kasey's dad on the slide, and Kasey noticed the amount of phone/cameras in the audience and reached out 'i think on social media, and asked them to submit any footage they captured so they could piece this together. Which also explains why it is not top quality, hi level recorded footage, and in my opinion, that just adds to the significance of the remastered masterpiece.

This is my 60th viewing of reactions to Kasey’s version of ‘Lose Yourself’ - I am Kasey’s # 1 fan - I will fight anyone for that title. Her voice is revelatory, she has an amazing gift as a both a songwriter and a performer, and her voice is a rare instrument. Glad that more of the world is hearing some of what she can do. I attended a ‘Dead Ringers’ concert about 28-29 years ago. Kasey was about 18 yo lead singer and sang her heart out that night. I came away a changed person.

This... has inspired me to buy two Kasey Chambers CDs for my car and I just rented and watched '8 mile' for the first time (Eminem's movie that brought this song out). I've also become addicted to watching reaction videos for this PERFORMANCE. I'm obsessed by this incredible performance of a song I had never heard before she sang it to me... Love this... What a work of art this truly is. From the lyrics, to Kasey's voice, the band and the use of audience phone footage for the clip. Someone may correct me, but I don't think it is a pedal steel, just a guitar. But it's her Dad playing it. You need to follow this up with her original, Ain't No Little Girl. Hi from Australia. I am not a big rap fan but I actually see Eminem as someone who raps but supercedes that title. He is a poet. Casey'a take on it is great because she gets the pain in the song. She has family members in her band and she is just a stunning musician. As they all are. I actualy cry every time I watch her perform this.

Thanks for doing this one! This gives me chills every single time I hear it. Kasey going from that resigned, laid back approach early in the song to the fighting emotion later is beyond powerful! 💪🏼 Kasey is very under appreciated and needs to be recognised more on an international scale! Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is an icon in the Australian music industry, mostly for country and folk, but has her own style and is never afraid to delve into something outside the box. She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. I guess he has as he did give her permission to upload to Spotify etc. Would really like to hear what he thought about it though. Where else would you see hand-banging with a banjo, pedal steel guitar and rock band together? Kasey started her solo commercial career around the same time as Eminem and she was a big fan of his music. From what I understand, Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control? Not to mention the awesome arrangement. ❤ Also, that was Kasey’s Dad, Bill, on the steel guitar. Full kudos to Eminem for his songwriting. Personally, the reason Kasey’s version affects me so much is all down to the fact that she did lose herself in the music, the moment during this performance. She is a true blue Aussie who will leave her soul bared on stage every single time. ❤
