Kendrick won fairly easy. Cole has got punchline after punchline, and his bars are easy to pick up. But when we’re talking about bars, lyrics, and the fact that Kendrick ate that beat from start to finish, he gets the W.

@Aronzzi who’s a Kendrick fan boy? I actually prefer Cole to Kendrick (musically) but Cole isn’t even in Kendricks league when it comes to lyricism. Cole is very good with the rhyme schemes and delivery but apart from that what can he fuck with Kendrick on? Bars? No. Storytelling? No. Flow? No. Albums? No. Metaphors? No. Kendrick is just a better rapper overall. Cole is pretty simplistic for the most part, his music is alot easier to understand than Kendricks which is one of the reasons I prefer to just casually listen to Cole than Kendrick but if I’m wanting to hear some lyrical, lyrical witty shit it’s Kendrick all day.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Kendrick and Lamar. The lyricism is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the bars will go over a typical listeners head. There's also Lamar’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these bars, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Kendrick truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Lamar’s existential catchphrase "Yak YaK Yak Yak," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Lamar’s genius wit unfolds itself on their playlists. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Kendrick tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Yall cant pick J Cole based on Bars 1st Listen. Most Great Lines are Hard to catch 1st listen, & Kendricks lyrics are more complex. Plus Kendrick hit like 10 different fire flows that you dont ever hear. J cole just stuck with 1 flow that was pretty good. Most ppl chose Kendricks Black Friday >> Coles

Y’all liked Cole more because he’s more easier to decipher, but you got to analyze Kendrick’s bars, his verse is just more layered💯

Kendrick dominated this song, but don’t sleep on J Cole at all. And if you think he can’t freestyle or would get killed by K Dot just look up his LA Leakers freestyle 🤷🏼‍♂️

Every single one of yall is missing the point: it's not about who killed it more and is the best, it's a collab project, so you just got to appreciate both and the masterpiece they put on together imo.
