Great song...Kiki did a fantastic duet with Elton John, Don't Go Breaking My Heart

She did a duet with Elton John "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" It was a huge hit. Sadly, her career didn't go that far after the mid-70s. She and her husband still perform but mostly as an oldies act.

She was so successful she made a lifelong career, lol. As for an oldies act...she is OLD, lol. That is how time works.

In the United States she became the first white British artist to be signed by Motown, releasing her first Motown single in 1970. Kiki Dee began her recording career as a session singer. She sang backing vocals for Dusty Springfield, among others, but did not achieve solo success in the UK for many years. She recorded her debut album, I'm Kiki Dee, in 1968 which included a series of Phil Spector-style tracks and covers.

Disco was one of those movements that blended music from across all genres. This is a great example of a thumping dance beat with rock guitar, bass and lead vocal delivery.

The volume on the video should have been up a notch compared to your mics. Our band did this song back in the 70's. An all male band but the singer was awesome, plus the two guitarists. Damn fine memories.

Kiki Dee is the lead singer. She is the performer. There are other background singers. She had a number of solo albums throughout the 80's, and a few singles did well in the U.S. but she did much better in the UK where she is from. Amereuse, Chicago, and First Thing in the Morning are great songs that got radio play in the US. She had songs on the singles charts in the UK and Australia through 1993.

To me this was just a mediocre version of the Thelma Houston original. Thelma's version was more exciting, more dynamic, and far better sung. Give that a listen.
@damonrobus-clarke5335 ай бұрын
2 years ago- ah who cares! FYI, this IS the original, written by the keyboardist, you must be American, so explains it! Thelma Houston version is good, but this blows it out of the water. I reapectlfully suggest you are talking rubbish.
