Two great country legends. Hard to believe this was the first time that Loretta Lynn & Willie Nelson teamed up to do a duet with “Lay Me Down” in 2016. Willie is now 89 years old & Loretta is 90 years old. Not many left anymore of the true pioneers of country music.

My first time hearing this song also! I think it was very emotional for the both of us. It's mostly emotional for me because just recently lost my Dad one week before his 95th birthday & I know he is at peace now because he is with my Mom again & with The Heavenly Father! God Bless you & your family! Peace, Happiness & Love from Alabama in the USA!

I love that their voices weren't "pitch perfect". It had all the emotion, the feeling and the experience of having lived a full life. Reminds me of Johnny Cash doing Hurt. All of these legends bring more to the table than even they can realize. I cried listening to this song, knowing that she was being "laid down" for her final journey. Soaring on the wings of a dove I wish her nothing but Peace. I saw the angst in you while you listen Craig. Thank you for showing that it meant more to you than you wanted to admit. Stunning, classic and beautiful.

Goosebumps from the first note Loretta sang. I love this song. The writer Mark Marchetti is Loretta’s son in law. He did an amazing job on this song.

When I was a child, about 6 years old, I met both of these people, I sat on Willies knee and he sang a song with me, Loretta is my moms cousin, my mom sang with her a couple of times that I remember, it was in the early to mid sixties. It amazes me these two are still here and we are all so much older, my mom passed away several years ago. I don't remember what song I sang with Willie, I'm sure it was probably Mary Had A lil Lamb or something a child would know. I just remember being there with some other relatively unknown artists back then with a few hundred other people. None of these people could ever appear in person like they did then. They just rolled up in their busses or cars and walked out on stage, played, then mingled with the crowd.

I can’t help but feel while watching this that it was like watching two of the last greats signaling the end of a bygone era. If you haven’t seen It’s All Going To Pot with Willie and Merle yet, you should definitely check that out. Also Dolly and Kenny’s You Can’t Make New Old Friends.

I've never heard this before. The title first confused me. Ms. Lynn's long time best friend and duet partner, Conway Twitty, had a hit song called I'd Love To Lay You Down. But it was about a completely different subject.

If you like the old time country style songs then you have to listen to Travis Tritt and Patty Loveless sing Out of Control Raging Fire. This is sung in the 1940s 50s style.

Willie is in the audience, and I believe this night was solely dedicated to Willie Nelson. (if I'm wrong please correct me) anyway, just beautiful stuff 🔥🎸🤗💖✌✌🎶

📌 We Americans have always been “the melting pot.” It’s in our history and our music. We came here from all over the world to express our diversity. I love rock, jazz, soul and country music equally. Who are the true Americans? Well, we are the ones who value differences, and yet we will fight along side you for freedom. I come from Wales and Germany. My parents raised me to value other people and nations.
