side note, the man behind MF DOOM would basically change his title frequently as he saw fit so it's a little hard to track the projects he's worked on. If you only care about his rap just searching for "MF DOOM" or "King Geedorah" you can find a lot of his verses, but if you want to find his beats "Metal Fingers" is what you'll want to look into and any of his "Special Herbs" albums which are his instrumentals from projects he's worked on.

Also, one of his best albums is under the name Danger Doom, named the mouse and the mask. It's all Adult Swim cartoon references. There are 10 albums of just his beats under the title special herbs. Just remember to spell it MF DOOM

Something important to note about DOOM that I haven't seen people mention, he was the supervillain of rap. Basically meaning he'd purposely do shit against the norm just to fuck with people, he's got multiple songs where he's purposely rapping off beat for the entire song, he'll constantly include 'over the bar' rhymes or just completely throw out his scheme halfway through a line and start some new scheme just to fuck with how it should sound. The reason a lot of rappers rappers talk big about DOOM and say he was the best is because he just masterfully crafted so many of these weird, completely off-meta rhymes so eloquently, he completely owned the persona that he created, whether as MF DOOM, Viktor Vaughn or King Geedorah.

Good commentary, Genltemen. Madvillainy is for you! One of the best Hip Hop albums of all time (certainly my favorite). I recommend a listen through of the whole thing. 22 short, unique tracks, very dense, partly blending into each other. It works like a graffiti wall or an appetizer variety.

Remember one thing, when he’s something, he’s saying at lead two things if not more. Like a lot of lines have several entendres, with crazy references, even linking to lines before and after the line. Ofc it’s not so blk & wht. He’ll link lines to notes, samples, the songs metaphorical theme, rhyming lines the to the name of the literary vice, or etc. tbh he does a lot with English lol

I've listened to you guys podcast a little in the background sometimes, glad to see you guys look into the absolute GOAT. A little about Madvillain, *USUALLY* MF DOOM is the rapper while Madlib is doing the production like is the case here in ALL CAPS, however both of the artists in the duo have proven to be able to perform either role, for example I love MF DOOM's beats SO much and I think as far as beat production goes they resemble each other somewhat. Keep it up guys!

Oh the "MadVillain" naming convention is something DOOM used to do when he collabed with people. He would combine your name with his. Ex: Madlib + Villain = MadVillain album Bishop Nehru + DOOM = NehruvianDoom album etc So if you guys did an album with DOOM he would probably have called it 'BandHouse Villains'
