from his effortless wordplay, the great and deep use of samples, the multilayered way of making album across all his personas of characters, there will never be one like him. R.I.P MF DOOM.

The fun thing about MF DOOM is that if you're waiting for the hook, you'll be waiting forever. He's there to drop off a sick rhyme, and leave you a confused mess. And you'll love it.

MF DOOM IS INFINITE AND ETERNAL❗️❗️❗️ Seriously, thank you for this… We all know MF DOOM has a cult following like the artists named previously… His flow or lack there of is superb, it keeps you engaged… There should be college curriculum written about his sampling techniques… He’s one of the guys that made Hip-Hop absolutely better for all… LONG LIVE GLORIOUS SUPERVILLIANY❗️❗️❗️

The first song on the album is called “Beef Rap”, this song is like 4th or 5th on the album. This song is one of my favorites from DOOM, but my all time favorite song from him is “Crosshairs” from “The Mouse and The Mask” album that he collaborated with DangerMouse. The combination of the two makes the artist, DangerDoom.

One thing your missing where a lot of the samples are from in the track is the fact that the album version has a 2 minute outro skit which has been cut from the official video it's where the UN meating sample is used, DOOM is notorious for doing skits using cartoon and TV samples especially from the fantastic 4 cartoon On a side note since you mentioned the gorillaz they did a song with DOOM called November has come it's definitely worth a listen

Old school rapper like a lot of Black families had moms or pops with a deep record collection that would be going all night on the weekends. When you grow up to this music it is not as hard to find a beat and couple that with Black families who had musical and professional backgrounds.

DOOM is extremely complex. His persona is what you need to understand. He is actually DOOM personified. If you watch DOOM cartoons as I did, he is a genius. How does he intertwine himself and DOOM. He is the epitome of artistry and takes you for a ride. An open mind and knack for intellectual qualities for lyrics in the highest form is what's needed before you get into him and his personas

You should give Danny Browns masterpiece Atrocity Exhibition a listen. I've never heard a project that has lyrics and music that reflect the artists condition like these do. It can be hard to listen to as its disorientating and Danny is so open and vulnerable that I don't know how to feel when its over. Makes me realize I'm watching a person self destruct but he's funny so I laugh. Overall it's just a super well done album. If you're interested in samples and sampling there is nothing better than the 1989 Dust Brothers/Beastie Boys produced album Paul's Boutique. It's thought to have 300+ samples. Each song samples between 10 and 25 unique artists. It's a high water mark for sampling and pop culture references. Considering it was recorded to tape its an impressive album.

Straight-forward setups and punchlines are a little too simplistic for DOOMs style of lyricism. He preferred to say more using less words, reminiscent of modernist poetry.
