I think the media did not want this song to be spread. And this track was not played all over the world like the rest of the songs of MJ. This one is obviously a masterpiece of his thoughts.

It was from History album, released in 1995. In this MJ is beatboxing throughout the Song. Lines like "with your pen you torture men", perfectly describes how he was affected by the media coverage about him, and "speculate to break the one you hate", describing how reporters used sensational writing to mislead people and cast him in a negative view. #TabloidJunk

The whole History album is packed with gems. I was 13 when it came out, even then, even though I didn't understand much of what he was singing (English is not my native language and I was only starting tolearn), I would play Tabloid Junkie on a loop and jump around the room. I love this track. The lyrical depth on this album is on a different level. Sadly, radios only play songs that came out as a single (in most cases) and even then they choose to concentrate most on tracks from Thriller and Bad albums. Dangerous album is not played that much but I absolutely recommend WHY YOU WANNA TRIP ON ME and WHO IS IT for example.

People say mjs albums were falling short, not selling like he use to but every time he was outselling or breaking records and this was a double lp. He was not going to comply with the record companies to only do radio hits or him sing with nothing to talk about or them wanting him gay Was was not that dude and he made it clear. So haters gonna hate and they killed him

Beat it “get your ass outta here” like get away or stop it basically. So entire time he’s telling people to “Stop it!” But instead of saying “Stop it!” beat it rhymes with “no one wants to be defeated.”

Congrats on discovering the gem that is from Michael Jackson History which was a double disk. It was my favorite cd growing up. Fun fact Michael Jackso introduced me as a kid to Notorious BIG which led me to Bad Boy, Jay Z, a overall love of hip hop and diverse music catalog of music in general. One of my children was born the day he died and I couldn't tell you I remember the birth more. It hurt and angered me at the same time.. My kids all love his music.tho , my step daughter was crushed and she was only 9, and this song is one of my(and my son of the same name) all time favorites.

Not sure entirely what the song is about, but apparently Quincy Jones who was the producer on the album at the time wanted MJ to do a rock track. However MJ up until that point never really showed any interest in the genre. But according to him (MJ), the idea behind Beat It was to write a rock song that he himself would consider buying and that the kids would enjoy. Fun fact about the music video: MJ casted 80 members of the Crips & Bloods for the filming to add some authenticity and to try to foster peace between the two gangs.

The lyrics are about life on the streets and gang activity, something Jackson was very detached from. He was schooled by tutors his whole life and became a star at a young age, so his interpretation of "two gangs coming together to rumble" was based on the celluloid interpretations that he'd seen, specifically West Side Story, which used gangs as musical art. West Side Story was a 1957 musical that was made into a popular movie in 1961. Starring Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno, the film won several Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Some of the first dialogue heard in the movie - in a scene where some gang members have encroached on rival territory - is the emphatic line, "beat it."

That oxygen chamber story was about when he suffered from 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his scalp. While he was in the hospital,he visited other burned victims. He laid in one oxygen chamber for a minute, bought it and donated it to that hospital for burned victims.

Thank you for creating this video and admiring mj’s strange and mind blowing talent and personality, it’s simply out of this world and tablet junkie is yet another body of work that proves there will only ever be one Michael Jackson. His life shows how owe inspiration the possibilities of human life can be and inspires each of us to dig deep and find a part of us that beyond the physical. The only disappointing thing about Michael Jackson besides the allegations (which added to his misque) was that he never acknowledged Jesus Christ publicly as his Lord and saviour, he took all of the glory and praise which belongs to Yahweh and this tells me he was probably most certainly sold his soul to attain those heights (and quite obviously so because his gift was beyond this realm and given to from a source beyond the physical reality, hence why we are captivated by him. According to Luke 4 2, Satan took Jesus into an _exceeding high mountain_ and said to Jesus, “Worship me, and I will give you ALL the glories of this world!” And Jesus denied Satan and said, get thee behind thee Satan for it is written TO SERVE THE LORD YOUR GOD AND HIM ALONE SHALL THOU SERVE.” Many (especially talented) people Satan has made this offer to. Unfortunately many you call your favourite artist actresses etc Did indeed take Satan up on that offer, hence why he has put them in a exceedingly high status, the likes of which are unattainable except accessing it through that route. - There’s also many testimonies on KZbin of people having outer body near death experiences and witnessing MJ in hell (a conversation for another day) but nothing you won’t put past him, Satan, his craving for fame and adoration and the mystery behind this whole phenomenon we are still captivated by even 13 years after his death.

Yeah MJ wad pissed off on the HISTORY album, he didnt care anymore he called everyone out who was responsible. Invincible is also a pretty angry album too. Dangerous which came out before this one was his last "hopeful" album, it was also his most freespirit one too, he incorporated a lot more do better for the world type songs and had more spiritual songs as well.
