Something I noticed with people who do the kick is they kick with their dominant side. Chris Tucker is left handed so his left side is his dominant side and he kicks with his left leg. Mike is right handed so naturally that’s his dominant side and he kicks with his right leg.

You can do it the right way with a bit of practice. Just like you can learn how to be right-handed if you are left handed.

He kicks with his left leg because he probably learned the dance on tv, just like a lot of people did. On tv everything is inverted. I saw in the this is it movie that his back up dancers also learned the dance moves on tv, so when they had to be his back up dancers they had to learn it all over again so they can get used to kicking with the right side.
