Michael Stanley is my favorite of all time. I saw him 27 times. Yes, I keep a log of all the concerts I’ve attended. Thank you for reacting to this most beloved ‘son of Cleveland’.

Michael had a love/hate relationship with the recording business. Never caught on nationally, but had an incredibly intense and loyal fan base in NE Ohio, holding attendance records at several venues, so there was some bitterness towards the industry reflected in some lyrics, especially one of his favorites, "Midwest Midnight", also a concert favorite. He recorded and toured with his Michael Stanley Band for 13 years, recording 11 albums with 4 different labels. After he ended MSB in 1988 he went on to have a very successful career in local broadcasting, both in TV and as a classic rock DJ for over 30 years, still playing with a couple of other groups he put together over the years before succumbing to lung cancer (yeah, those things will kill you) in early 2021 at age 72, during the pandemic.

One of my favorite groups! You really need to listen to Lover…..thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway. Rosewood Bitters is another good one. He Can’t Love You and My Town had some moderate national success in the 80s.
