I was raised by my grandparents. Our family follows the traditional Kazakh custom, when the firstborn is given to grandfather and grandmother, so my grandparents play the role of my parents. My grandmother took care of me and she even quit her job; and despite her chronic leg pain, she took me to music lessons every day. It is no exaggeration to say that all my achievements should be attributed to her. My love for my mother (grandmother) is truly indescribable. Not every child is as lucky as me. Many children lost their mother at birth or even became orphans. There should be no lack of love and care in this world. I want to give them that love, that warmth." To be more precise, as this can be a bit confusing, they all lived together, and the grandparents played a big role in raising Dimash, but he also had his parents with him. Dimash calls all 4 of them mama and papa, both parents and grandparents, he says that he is lucky to have 2 sets of parents :)) The song "Moonlight Mother" came out in 2017, when Dimash spent a lot of time in China, first time away from his family for a long time, and he felt quite homesick in those times, so his performance (at least in my opinion), captures some of that longing and missing of his parents/grandparents as well, and especially his grandma probably :)

Thank you for reacting to this one, his early Chinese work doesn't get nearly enough attention. It was the OST for a video game called Moonlight Blade and won the American Music Award for the best video game soundtrack. I completely lose myself in the beauty of this track too so I understand your reaction completely.

A lot of music is fun or nice or pretty, but Dimash's music is beautiful. Maybe it's because he hits the notes so clearly. That's what it seems to me at least. We don't often find things in the world that are just pure beauty. Another really beautiful one is "The Meaning of Eternity".
