This guy is a phenomenal talent, but an even a better human being. So down to earth, articulate, humble and kind. It may not be your normal content but, I'd recommend watching some of his "pleasure to meet you" videos. I believe he has 2 so far. It's just him sitting in his truck talking to the camera. It gives such insight to the man behind all the whirlwind of sudden popularity. We need more people like him in this world!!

I agree completely - watch the video's in explains a lot about the reasons he is singing of these subjects. It seems as if we don't get to see to many "decent" people who can move us. Even though I might have a long journey, it makes me want to be more "decent" and kind to people around me.

The stranglehold that the big companies have on seed has yet to hit home for most folks! Monsanto and the others have the ability to starve us as consumers. ANYTIME they want! Most stuff nowadays doesn't produce viable seed! They've also sued neighboring farms out of existence if you squabble with them!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠

People talk about "money being the root of all evil", but that's not what the Bible says. "The love of money is the root of all evil." Chris doesn't have that affliction, apparently. Good for him. And he reads scripture before playing for people. Don't see a lot of that these days. But believe me, we've seen times before this when many folks believed the toxicity of the world would be the end of us in short order. Trust God, stay strong, and last it out. However long it takes. No one knows when the end is coming. I'm paraphrasing here, but I remember that Jesus' disciples asked Him when the end times would come. And He said something close to, "Only the Father knows, not even the Son." We need good people to stick it out, and help whom and when they can. Let the people at the top...the men north of Richmond, in the U.S., let them push and destroy for more and more. Trust God. Thanks for a great reaction.

This is actually not a new song, just a new release of an older recording. This song just communicated how I have been feeling for the past four years. I am so ready for it all to end, but it is up to the Lord to call me home to be with Him. The verse at the end of the video is Mark 8:36, and the verse also appears with slightly different wording in Matthew 16:26. It sums up how Christopher ("Oliver") could turn down $8M. If you want to know who Christopher Anthony Lunsford (“Oliver Anthony”) truly is and hear it from the proverbial horse’s mouth, here is a link to one of his posts: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmTXgmiGr5WZi6s A lot of reactors have received blowback from some for reacting to Christopher Anthony Lunsford, aka Oliver Anthony. I don't find anything about his songs objectionable or “right-wing.” Chris (Oliver) even voices his distaste for both political parties in his song “Doggon It” and describes himself as a centrist. The fact that the usual suspects are calling “Rich Man North Of Richmond” the new “right-wing anthem,” means he has struck a nerve and is right on target. The irony is that voices on the extreme right call him woke, a traitor, and a sell-out for stating in a video that we (the US) are a melting pot and that our diversity is our strength as a nation. Haters will be haters; God bless you for ignoring them and the mindless sheeple. Chris ("Oliver") has been posting messages on X (Twitter) in addition to his vlogs on YT to explain to his audience, as well as to his haters what he is all about. He appears to be getting increasingly frustrated with people trying to put him in a specific ideological camp. This is was he posted on his X account recently: "I. Don't. Support. Either. Side. Politically. Not the left, not the right. Im about supporting people and restoring local communities. Now, go breathe some fresh air and relax. Please? :) I'm not worth obsessing over, I promise. Go spend time with your loved ones." People try to interpret his, and other artists' music in light of their own preconceived notions and biases instead of hearing from the artist what he or she intends to communicate. Here is a link to Chris’ vlog, addressing “Rich Men North Of Richmond,” and the controversy and misconceptions surrounding the song that is as important to listen to as the song itself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maecpoCOnr5lb9U

If he knows the bible and Revelations than he knows what is to come. My guess is that he'll have a while to go before he leaves here. With having a #1 hit, he'll be in the class of the rich man soon. Rich is a matter perspective. Money is not evil, only the love of money is.

Your whole thing about how they shot the first video and who did it, is not quite correct. RadioWV is not a news channel, they are a West Virginia music channel. I don't have a lot of in depth info on them but it appears they reach out to unknown artist in the surrounding area and go to them to record videos for their youtube channel. They're trying to get them out into the public. I've looked at a few of the videos on their channel, certainly not all of them, but they seem to have around 20 to 60K views for a typical video, Oliver/Chris, just blew up. He's got 42 million for Rich Men last time I checked. I don't know how many songs they recorded with Oliver/Chris, but so far, three have dropped. Rich Men, Virginia and I wanna go home. Two on RadioWV and one posted on Oliver Anthony Music.

Oliver Anthony just put out 3 songs on KZbin.... " Rich men north of Richmond, I wanna go home, and 60 some Chevy ", that are better than any top three songs of any modern country singer except for Chris Stapleton.

That's Mark 8:36. "Oliver" said in a video that he has learned that the music industry is "dirtier than you think it is" and he is determined to be politically neutral, though he is supported by "the Right" and attacked by "the Left".

I think him quoting the Bible verse at the end is him taking a stab at the music industry. He could have easily gained $8 million, what struggling person wouldn't jump on that? But if he had done that he would have sold his soul (his music), and even gaining everything he could have gained it wasn't him. It isn't who he is.
