The song is about being captivated about catallena, (the octopus) and how the girls (mermaids) give her more value than themselves, and the more they obsess about her they feel less and less confident and have no self worth; while the octopus is going around being a snob acting all high and mighty and the Nana Raina and Lizzy come to the restaurant and enjoy the mermaid sushi, which basically means regaining their self confidence and feeling ignorant for forgetting their value. leaving the octopus as an untouched, overpriced and overrated, and would probably be thrown out. I can’t say for certain if I’m accurate but I followed OC way back since after school and I can tell you I’ve seen or watch them give a description of what I wrote, it was a long time ago I couldn’t find the source if I tried but yeah; they made the best catchiest songs and they were really one of my first (sub) group that I learned about. Pardon my typing. **i remember idiots leaving comments about “they are being objectified in packages, it’s harmful “ Like no; it’s how they seem themselves and at the same time they have been objectifying the octopus until they realized their true value. Also some people don’t mind being objectified. So it’s not a crime, but it was annoying because they were hung up on it.

I think it was also meant as a memo to themselves about their self-worth because of the brutal way a lot of KPop girl group members were treated by “fans,” suits in the industry and sometimes other girls in the industry as well. When they eat the sushi it’s like they suddenly taste their value and quit comparing themselves to the $80 octopus/Catallena and the realization brings them to tears. When you look into what the song and video meaning was, it’s actually an incredibly deep message that a huge chunk of the audience is missing. I’m so glad Raina, Nana and Lizzy did this for themselves, though. I’m sure this has carried them through tough spots a lot of times since.
