He song is a genre known as kawali. This kawali was written by Mirza Muhammad Hakim, Mughal prince of 16th century also brother of Emperor Akbar. This Qawwali is about the worshippers going to Medina to prayer in the Masjid e Nabwi (the mosque built by Prophet Muhammad) where the deeds earned by prayer in any other mosque( except Masjid e Haram) rewards 10000 times more. Also the grave of the Prophet is situated in the mosque.

Thanks for your great reaction! It was a treat to watch honestly. Also before explaining let me say bro you're right Urdu (hindi its sister language) is one language that is known to be a language of poetry and art and it combines in it many other such languages like Persian and Arabic etc., thus encompassing a poetic beauty in it. As you asked about what the song is about; it is a Sufi song which praises in a way the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S) and his status as the king. It describes the feelings of Muslims who yearn to travel to Medina the home of Prophet (S) and Makkah where they perform the pilgrimage, the spirituality of the place and how close one is to the Creator of everything, Allah (One and only God) when they're there. Plz if you have time and want to learn further, check out a biography of the Holy Prophet (S) and the videos about Holy Quran or even some Islamic historical videos. You can also check out Sufi genre of music, you'll be mesmerized.

Typical Indian(including Pakistani) music is usually based on different "raag"...classical singers learn different raags and the raags are specially designed according to the time of the day. Singers does not just practice or sing any random raag at any random time of the day...it's even supposed to be listened at that particular time frame only. The classical singers and old singers followed the practice very religiously. I know this is too much information but just thought of sharing that with you and everyone. ❤️

You know what bud, there's so many fake reaction channels out there just to get views, and so you're a breath of fresh air. So much respect for your genuine reaction, and appreciation of music regardless of language, or borders. Subscribed and look forwards to more reactions! There's plenty of Atif Aslam stuff out there, and also maybe check out Coke Studio Pakistan. The new series just finished Coke studio 14, which was drastically different to others, but all of it is quality.

You're right. Indian music is very complex, their notes and intonations vary from the western music. If you go down South, you'll discover a very different take on the musical journey, same as the North. And yes Indian music has so many traditional instruments that are very alien to others but it's been there for ages, and every single one brings a unique sound to the song. Coke studio is a fantastic place to explore artists cos they have stunning sound quality and quite honestly they keep it very simple and clean...so you can just concentrate on the vocals. Glad you're delving deeper into Indian music. There's so much more to unlock.

This is absolutely amazing! Wow! I'm gonna have to listen to more. I think I;ve heard you mention Bollywood before. I watched your LOVEBITES Holy Wars reaction, so I know you like metal and it seems you like Bollywood, so as a mega fan, I would let the community down if i did not HIGHLY recommend you to react to Indian Folk Metal Band, BLOODYWOOD!!! These guys are hands down my favorite band to listen to. It's all i've been listening to since their CD cam out a couple months ago. Songs I would recommend to start (yes, to start... you'll being going down the Bloodywood rabbit hole for sure)... "Machi Bhasad" and "Gaddar" I'll bet anything you will really like them. Challenge accepted???

Atif Aslam is one of the best artists of Pakistan, the Language is Urdu, with few verses in Persian and Arabic. This particular style is called Qwwali, it's basically a praise of Our Prophet Mohammed pease be upon him.And also a prayer in poetry form.Coke Studio is produced in Karachi, Pakistan.I am amazed by your comment about Urdu language, since you don't understand it but yes Urdu language due to extreme Arabic root words influence does sound poetic.
