So Dimebag Darrel ( guitarist) and Vinnie ( drummer) are brothers. Unfortunately they are the only two people that have passed away in this band to date. Dimebag was shot in the head on stage by a deranged fan and Vinnie died in his sleep here in Las Vegas a few years ago. They can NEVER be replaced.

The ONLY thing even remotely close is fucking Born of Osiris, (original EP) abstract Art. This is the GOAT of breakdowns... but abstract art is about as close as you can get. Maybe About 44 seconds in to Open Arms of Damnation by Born of osiris off that same Album... really that whole album is a total masterpiece. I know they rerecorded it, but im still partial to the OG.

I would highly recommend their song " Cemetery Gates " to see the vocal range and the range of songs they have to offer. In their earlier days the lead singer Phil Anselmo had some serious vocal range on displayed with emotional clean vocals that make you feel the weight of what he sings about. Cemetery gates is so different from their usually sound and its so worth reacting to

Ran a record store when they toured for Reinventing The Steel. They did an autograph session at my store the day before Ozzfest(the year Sabbath headlined) after the show I got to hangout with them backstage since they knew who I was now. It was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. I was doing shots and bsing with both brothers. They were 2 of the most down to earth celebs I’ve ever met. Had Tim the Ripper Owens with me as well. He had just joined Judas Priest and they’d make him do the halford scream and then we’d take a shot. Did about 5-6 in a row lol. Good times!!

Oh man, this performance of Domination is absolutely legendary. Not only is their performance outstanding, but _the crowd!_ This festival was massive for the audience as well, the accessibility of which representing a successful negotiation between political dissidents and the government at the time. Bro. Estimates have this crowd at *over 1.5M fans* attending. You can never underestimate the power of music! Absolutely loved your energy and reaction, thanks so much for sharing! This band is one of the most important rock bands in the last several decades. Pantera completely changed the landscape of metal at the time, and since. To this day I bet you can't find a rock guitarist that doesn't look up to Dimebag Darrell. Each one of these members *HAVE. A. SEAT. AT. THE. TABLE.*

You picked a good one. I had this on vhs at age 19, we watched it a lot. Pantera was just hitting their stride at this time. Rex and Phil said they were ready to record "Vulgar Display of Power" , but went to Moscow , before coming back to tecord it. Domination was from the previous LP. This live version is better than the studio version from CowboysFrom Hell. This live version (and Phil's vocals) is more in line with their sound from Vulgar Display of Power releasef the next year in 1992

It was the day before my 28th birthday that my favorite guitarist was murdered. I didn't know until the day after. I'm forced to forgive (I still haven't), but I refuse to forget. I only had 5 lessons, but I had to pay for them and split the hour with a neighbor who really wasn't into it. The teacher was a metal head and I would play some Metallica. I was 15 and he gave me a "Cowboys From Hell" CD to keep. I blew out my first guitar on the dive bar trying to play "This Love" while I was on house arrest for a DUI in '09. Semi-sober now 😂 Check that one out. RIP DIME AND VINNIE!!!
