They know exactly where to place every person, in the correct tone, to perfectly blend something that gives tribute to the original but also makes for an awesome new cover. It's fun to watch.

I absolutely LOVE SO many Pentatonix performances, but this is definitely now my favorite. SO GOOD. I love the original, but I really think if I had the choice, I'd actually rather hear this one

The fact that this performance was a semitone down from the studio version just shows how awesome this aragnement really is and I'm sure it allowed them to go off a bit harder for the vevo live.

This is one of the best groups today!! They always know how to balance their skills & layers to their voices. For this song the female vocals (higher octaves) aren't the general focal points. However they found the right balance from the whole group to key in on what works best for them. The song itself was already powerful. But they've added additional layers to it.

First video of yours I have ever seen. Let me tell you I just saw them live 2 days ago and this was even better in person which one cannot expect anything less from this group. I totally see why you called what they did both unnecessary and mandatory. This is what Pentatonix does. They arrange a song and turn it into an instant 10 out of 10. But then they raise the bar and find a way to blow our minds each and every time. They didn't have to go above and beyond--we would have enjoyed it with a fraction of the effort it took to arrange the song. But Pentatonix would not be Pentatonix if they didn't use ALL of their skills and talents to ensure that the arrangement was absolute FIRE. In that sense, it's mandatory for them to always push themselves to perfection and once they achieve it, push past it and redefine the word "perfection".
