Queen has another song called "A Winter's Tale" that's not solely a Christmas song but it's considered Christmasy because it mentions Christmas activities. It's the last song Freddie wrote, from his bed looking out at Lake Geneva. That sounds sad but his lyrics are about the beauty of life which is remarkable because he was almost at the end of his. It's truly beautiful. Hope you do it. 💙☮💙

‘Thank God It’s Christmas’ was a rare song writing collaboration between Roger and Brian. The song spent six weeks in the UK charts over the Christmas/New Year period 1984/1985. It enjoyed a second lease of life Christmas 1995 coupled with the hit single ‘A Winter’s Tale’ from the Made In Heaven album.

I first heard this song the first year of COVID. I burst into tears, because even though the lyrics are timeless, they could've been written for the year we had had. I really needed the magic of Christmas that year and each year since. . . .so "thank God it's Christmas!" really spoke to me and felt like a hug from Freddie. I kept wondering "How have I not heard this song before?!" I'm so grateful to have come across it and it'll always be a part of my Christmas music. It's super wonderful to have Freddie's beautiful, soul grabbing voice singing a Christmas song. Touches me deeply. I agree with you guys, there's just something about Freddie's voice that grabs all of you and is hard to put into words. Thanks for appreciating such a special soul and voice! I love seeing how much he touches you guys. Sending you and your family lots of Christmas magic!

XMAS REQUEST - There are not many songs from our lifetime that have achieved “classic” status. In 1984 their were too, the profits from both went to charity. Do They Know It’s Christmas changed how artists could use their influence & it’s magic but the more perfect pure Christmas song released in 1984 is still one of the most played songs every year, Wham’s Last Christmas written by the late, great George Michaels. It’s not really Christmas without this timeless 80’s mega hit.

I've never heard of this, either...and I'm a 58 yo classic rock fan! It's very nice.
"Thank God It's Christmas" is a Christmas single by the British rock band Queen. It was written by lead guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. 1984. Freddie Mercury had a deep-rooted love for everything Christmas, with a lifelong generosity of spirit. May spoke of the creation of the track, "This was Roger [Taylor]'s composition, mainly, except he didn't have a chorus," he said. "So I contributed the chorus and we worked on it together, to cut a long story short. And then, when it was almost finished, we presented it to Freddie, who loved it and did a beautiful vocal. I think it's just the most understated vocal, and I love it, you know." ..

Here's one for you, a Christmas classic, that few people would realize was 1st introduced by the great western movie idol Gene Autry in 1949, 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer'. To make it interesting i've clipped the segment where Autry appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in 1953, with an animated Ed Sullivan trying to grab Autry's six shooter and Gene actually fires it on air. The song in total sold over 25 million copies and for decades was the 2nd best selling recording of all time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn7LqoKsjt-Ng5I

in 2016 scientific study (prof Christian Herbst) confirms, Freddie had an unparalleled singing voice. His vocal range F2-F6 (4 octaves) but that what makes his voice so special was extremely fast vibrato 7.04 Hz and subharmonics. He was able to create several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat One of the conclusions from the studies was that"He was vibrating something in his throat that even Pavarotti couldn't move".
