It always blows me away that their guitarist, Brian May, isn't just one of the best guitarists of all time and actually hand-built his guitar that he played in the band, but he's also a Doctor of Astrophysics - which he was in college for when the band formed, and then went back decades later to finish his doctoral thesis on "The Motions of Interplanetary Dust," which earned him his PhD in 2007. Also, if you really wanna hear his best guitar solo work, it doesn't get better than 'Brighton Rock' with some killer falsetto work by Freddie. I'm so glad I got to see them live twice back in the day.

More Queen!! Freddie is the only frontman I’ve ever seen in over 40 concerts who literally controls the crowd, beginning to end with his immeasurable charisma and talent. The backing vocals of of Brian May and Roger Taylor, and near perfection of John Deacon’s bass guitar round out one of the greatest bands of all time.
@ronnix23
@ronnix23 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely not a talent unique to Freddy. For example, Prince absolutely controlled the crowd. I will say, however, that it was more common to have front men who could do so back then than it is today.

@@ronnix23 I'd have to look up videos Maybe things were different in the uk. A music journalist said she had never seen someone interact/ control an audience like Freddie did. The story behind that song is amazing - as told by Brian May, Freddie was weak and in his final months of his battle with AIDS…Brian said to Freddie he was worried about the high notes and didn’t want Freddie to strain himself and Freddie said, “Don’t worry, I’ll f***ing nail it, darling”. He downed a couple of shots of vodka and out came that performance. His delivery of that song is truly everything and the lyrics are so poignant given his fight with the disease. It’s such a remarkable song and performance.

I am super late to the party of reaction videos, but I'm just an old hippie. I listen to music way more than I watch tv and love music videos on KZbin. Watching young people be exposed to the music I grew up with and still listen to warms my heart more than I can say. I've really gotten into all of the reactions, but you two have really struck a chord for me. You can see that your are both committed to each other and your family. And you have such open minds when it comes to music. I was raised on old country, big bands, the Rat Pack and such. I remember getting my first transistor radio which meant I could get FM stations out of St Louis. Queen & Freddie are my all time favorite. I saw them in 1978 when I was 16 yrs old. This song has become my daily devotion. I listen to it every day on my way to work and it just puts me in the best of moods. You cannot be crabby after listening to Freddie sing this song. I'm so glad to see you two haven't stopped making videos! Most of the people I've found gave up about the time Covid subsided. I suppose these videos came out of the pandemic to start with? You do a great job and I'm enjoying watching you very much! ✌

Should watch Queen's set at Live Aid 1985. One of the best live performances of all time.

I saw Queen once in 1978. Freddie Mercury blew me away. His voice was so powerful and he was a true showman. I wish I could have seen him again. Miss you Freddie. 🙏

Sadly he died a year before the functional cure for HIV became available. If he could have clung on to life one more year, he would still be here and performing today.

Another great song & great reaction. I know I'm one of many who have asked you to post a reaction to Queen's performance at Live Aid. Even if you only post one video that day (since the clip is about 22 minutes long) please, please, please. I know a lot of us would love to see your reaction. I know you think you appreciate Freddie's talent now, but if you want to see a master showman working a crowd (a HUGE crowd) you need to see Queen at Live Aid. Give The People What They Want! Blessings, -JR in Miami

Yes, more Queen! You can't go wrong with Queen. I haven't begged for this in a while but I honestly think you'd both absolutely love to hear Freddie with Montserrat Caballe singing "Barcelona." Talk about rock/opera! She was a force within her own right. Paired with Freddie they were a force to be reckoned with!

they are the best rock band in history they did many genre's, gospel, funk, rock a Billy (dedicated to elvis) opera and many other to mention also they are the only band in history which EVERY member is inducted into the songwriters Hall of fame the only ones, that screams volumes to me. makes me smile you guy enjoy so much kinda hard not to tho really tho is it 👑💥🎹🎵🎶

I absolutely love this song & always have. Of course, now I can't hear it without thinking of the movie, "Shaun of the Dead" - see why here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWXXh3ttd7WVY7OT). Once again, I beg y'all, please react to "Who Wants to Live Forever" -preferably their live performance from Wembley.
