The more I listen to Radiohead, the more I realize they are THE creative band of the last 3 decades.

in my opinion they are the greatest band to exist thus far. i used to think no one would ever surpass the beatles, but by the time radiohead got up to around in rainbows i had to admit that they had dethroned even the beatles. there is no other band that has set as high of a bar with combining massive stadium rocking earworm hits, technical prowess, prophetic/evocative lyrics, and mindblowing sonic imagination, all in equal measure. the beatles were funnier, but in every other way radiohead has surpassed them.

Although I have heard of them, this is the first time I've listened to a Radiohead song. I looked up a lyric recording so I could understand it better. Also there were some pretty thoughtful comments in that section. One person said that even though this is an old song... LOL- where have I been, it's new to me. Anyway, this surprised me, I don't know what I expected, but kind of assumed Radiohead were headbanger type music. I liked this very much and would enjoy hearing more. Thank you.

If I had to compare them to anyone it would be like a modern day Beatles and like the Beatles it's not real hard rock although there are a few exceptions.

Loved hearing sing “this is what you get” along with him. This is what the crowd does at one of their concerts! It’s so cool to hear the mass of people singing it to them!

true! i remember at one of the shows i went to, thom stoppped singing and just let the crowd sing that part, while he grinned like a maniac. best shows ever. it felt like we were on holy ground to be at a radiohead show in the 2000s. ive never seen a crowd so hypnotized. 20,000 people and you could hear a pin drop while thom sang "like spinning plates," just him with his piano, and johnny on synth. magic.

Great album. It’s not a ‘pump up the jam’ feel, it’s just genius music.

It is indeed a concept album. It's about technology and alienation. It's a critique of capitalism and consumerism.

its such a perfect album title. completely expresses the dystopian resignation of our era and the entire gist of the album in just 2 words.

Yes Biz. We want this. They are creative, experimental, and very cinematic at times. Some of their songs are third time listen masterpieces. A lil grow on ya type deal. and some are obvious instant classics. They have a vibe for every occasion.

There was so much incredible music in every genre in the 90's- genre's were created in the 90's- I loved it all - but this, "OK Computer" blew my mind, best album I had ever heard when it came out and still is today. Radiohead are just too dope for words - have had 5 of 9 albums in Rolling Stone Top 500, that's impressive, and for good reason. They change their sound on every album, never play it safe, and just one of those bands u pat the top of Mt. Everest, with Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Nirvana, Wu Tang, Tribe, and you know, a handful of others. Keep rolling with this! Love to see the experience.

You should do the whole album. Maybe Paranoid Android next?

An album that catapulted them into the stratosphere, and they’d already had hits and proved that Creep was not a one off but just a starting point. It’s also one of those rare Radiohead songs where you probably don’t need the lyrics lol. Thom isn’t always so easy to understand. Amazing voice though.

The way i see it, this whole record is about reaching a very troubled truce with technology. There. Is good-- an airbag saved my life-- and a lot of bad. No tesolution, but a lot of great music that makes you think.

its funny that you say they sound like muse, because muse has a longstanding rep as one of the most blatent radiohead copycats out there. when muse first hit the charts, all the radiohead fans, including myself, were like "rip off radiohead much?" i remember hearing an interview with radiohead in the early 2000s where the interviewer asked them about their influences, and thom (radioheads singer) answered "muse" without skipping a beat.

Muse debuted in 1997. They were highly influenced by Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Rage Against the Machine, and 20 years later, bad 1980s music.
