Thanks for reacting! Glad to see y'all loved this one as much as I do 😁 Here's a few more cool things to check out to anybody discovering this album for the first time: 1st I strongly recommend listening to the second disk of In Rainbows (kinda like the b-sides but it's also fucking incredible), Go Slowly is probably my favorite song of all time. 2nd, if you still want more, check out the "In Rainbows: From the Basement" live performance which some people like even more than the studio album. 3rd, this may sound kinda weird but trust me, look up and listen to the "Videotape 2006 Bonnaroo Version" (has almost a million views on YT). It's an early pre-album version of the song that's much faster and has just a entirely different vibe that's mindblowing. It's soooooo good. By the way, if you listen very closely during Reckoner at 31:31 the name of the album is being sung by the background vocals lol

I first heard Weird Fishes playing loudly in a record shop the day this album came out. I didn't even know they HAD a new record out, as the album was a bit of a 'surprise' release. I was in the shop looking for something, and I just heard this...fucking THING...suddenly start playing. I literally stopped in my tracks, standing there with my mouth open. Genuinely stunning. Listened to the whole song play through, just standing there. Went over to the store guy, and after a wee pause he just said 'Good, eh?'.

Absolutely. It's incredibly deliberate. Every note belongs. It's like it fell from the sky on 10 different parachutes. It's so ethereal. I saw Radiohead play OK Computer live in Belgium at the Torhout Festival first time they played paranoid android live in 97. It completely blew my mind. This Album doesn't contain a single 'bad' note. EVERY note is used in the least obvious but most emotionally dynamic way. It's a journey beyond the clouds. This and the KW album on the wall are my goto production listens. Those 2 and Tyler TC's 'Wolf' hit every kind of feeling for me.

Watching Radiohead "In Rainbows: From the Basement" the live version from a basement studio, takes this amazing musical perfection UP to an entirely new level. Plus, seen it reacted to with no pauses at least a dozen times without ever being taken down. You can check around YT just to see all the full reactions, but it would a spectacular experience - it is an iconic legendary live show, you see just the 5 guys making all these seemingly impossible soundscapes come to life with no tricks, no backing tracks, all done live by the 5 of them through the fact they are the greatest band of the last 30 years. Great reaction, much appreciated, light, love and peace..../

They released it without any advertisement, without any notification, just chucked it on their site for download. Pay what you want. And they made the most money they ever made from any album, which raises a very interesting question regarding what music is worth, monetarily. It fucked off a lot of suits in the music 'industry,' and I think that was part of the project's purpose - to reject the industrialisation of music.

Good point, but there's a big difference between an established band like Radiohead releasing an album for free and f**king off the 'suits' and a new band that hasn't yet managed to establish themselves and desperately needs help doing so. It didn't undermine the industry. It was an example of a very successful artist monetising their success.

You want to talk about a musical adventure this album for sure takes you on that. Jeff unfortunately passed away years ago but my god one of the most amazing voices to walk this earth. Grace is so good that it easily makes my Top 10 albums of all time it's so good. I read somewhere that Radiohead seen Jeff live in concert and took inspiration from him for one of their albums. He also does a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah it's been done by many artists but for me personally Jeff's cover is the best by far!

If you want to hear Thom spit, listen to "Wolf At the Door" on Hail to the Thief. One of my favorite Radiohead songs.

Their show from Bonnaroo 2007 is possibly the best show they ever played (band members agree) and they played most of In Rainbows in full 3 months before it was released. There is a pro shot video of this show on KZbin…check it out! And also From The Basement ;)

Y'all should do "A Light for Attracting Attention" by "The Smile". It's a project by the two leading members/songwriters of Raiohead (Thom & Johnny) with an additional drummer. They've released 3 incredible album thus far, but their debut album (The one I've recommended here) is nearly In Rainbows-tier in my book (Their third album "Cutouts" is about as good imo but the debut one will probably be cooler for y'all to react to 😎)
