A top 3 Radiohead song for me, and therefore one of the greatest songs of all time.

He got the slipperiest vibrato….he smears over the notes, not because he can’t sing, but because he can, then repeat his phrasing up a couple of octaves then shift down. 90’s….he was just getting started. You’re in for a treat. Watch their Live from The Basement renditions of In Rainbows, and King of Limbs. Then check out THe Smile.

Street Spirit is one of the best closers ever. Let Down (underrated ifykyk) is such a great song. Radiohead is my favorite band ever. Thom's voice in real life is phenomenal. He sounds fantastic on recordings, but his voice is another level live. It is like a picture or a sunset or a real sunset. Do yourself a favor and go back and start from Pablo Honey. The In The Basement series is simply some of the best music you will ever hear. The In Rainbows one is perfect.

Let down has been my favorite song of all Radiohead. Let down is so real, so faithful to everyday life, that I never see a bad time to play this song. The melody is also as melancholic as it is beautiful. My tears are falling precisely at this moment and at this hour of the morning.

I can't count the number of nights I've just sat there in the dark listening to Street Spirit and just letting the emotion wash over me. Truly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Let Down is also my favorite song. I was happy to see how pulled in you were on a first listen. It has so much to share and take in and feel, it really needs multiple listens. Also, regarding the lineup of the band, it's Thom, Johnny, Ed, Colin, and Phil. Not sure who the other two people you mentioned are!

Hi RC! Happy that I picked your fave! The other 2 were guest musicians (cello, viola and violin). Ultimately I don't think they played on Street Spirit, but they were somewhere playing on The Bends! Thanks for watching!

Two of my favorites, especially "Street Spirit (Fade Out)". It hit particularly hard today as I found out earlier that an old friend succumbed to his 5 year battle with cancer today. My eyes are stinging . . . .🥺 R.I.P. Don. 😔

My favorite songs off of 2 of their best albums, imo. Both the Bends and OK Computer are amazing with OK Computer in my Top 5 Albums of All-Time. You absolutely need to watch the video for Street Spirit- a work of art. You can definitely hear foreshadowing in The Bends of things to come with OK Computer. Hard to put into words describing the emotions these albums evoke or the profound effect they have on us.

Off the top of my head, I could suggest at least 25 Radiohead songs that would scramble your brain, mind, or heart. Truly a God tier band that, remarkably, only gets more innovative the longer they record music.

"Street Spirit (Fade Out)": great composition. One of my favorite RADIOHEAD songs. By the way, the band has never hidden that they were heavily influenced by VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR but especially by PETER HAMMILL's solo production and you can hear it in the structures and arrangements. My two favorite RADIOHEAD albums: 'OK Computer' (1997) and 'The Bends' (1995). From VDGG: 'Pawn Hearts' (1971) and 'Godbluff' (1975). From PETER HAMMILL (and here I won't be very original for the first one): 'The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage' (1974) and 'Chameleon In The Shadow Of The Night' (1973). Thanks, Brandon.

Don’t know much Radiohead…..they came on the scene when I was “ too old” to be exposed to them much. They weren’t on the channels I was listening to. But hell…..MAJOR RESPECT for this top-tier band.

In my opinion the closest thing we'll ever get to the Beatles, the insanity of Beatlemania will never be duplicated but as far as the actual work it's all there. They are all normal dads and not at all rock star types but they had a chance to be beyond huge after their 3rd album had people calling them the saviors of rock and roll. Instead they released an album with no singles or fanfare, and almost no guitars either. I can't tell you how much that album pissed me off, I actually boycotted them for years. Many years later i'm like this is incredible, how didn't I like this amazing soundscape that just blew me away. Start with their more rock like 2nd album and go through their catalog in order it'll remind you so much of a modern Beatles and just might blow you away too.

Once you get older the part where he says "we'll one day have to swallow whole" really starts to hit home when people you love start getting sick or too old, and start to die.

Radiohead wrote such beautiful guitar rock that they pissed off so many fans when they (quite naturally) evolved away from guitar rock and music. In my opinion they got even better and trancended most "rock" bands and that's why the only band I can compare them to is the Beatles.

Hey Brandon, thank you for the songs. I always found Thom Yorke a bit too plaintive to my taste, did you know he wrote the soundtrack for Suspiria 2018? Fun fact: one of their songs was featured on the Air France playlist (changing each month, during which it was played in the aircrafts). One flight attendant who had heard it one time too many said "Why is she wailing, did she lose her dog?". This is unfortunately my most cherished Radiohead memory...

They've admitted it on multiple occasions but it's only Radiohead's early stuff (first 3 albums) Radiohead has far surpassed their early stuff and evolved so much. That's why Radiohead gets so much more critical acclaim and are probably the most critically acclaimed band since the Beatles.
