My favourite thing is watching people discover Raye for the first time. Please dive right in, her story is unreal 👑

Also something to add, everytime Raye performs a song live she changes it up, so every live show feels like something so special

Yes it’s super cool watching them discover her, of course here in the UK we’ve known about her for a long time. I’ve remember when people started discovering Adele, and we knew her music for ages, yes Britain has some great talent

Raye has spoken about the fact that her record label would not let her release her music because they didn't think it would be popular. So she left them and released her music herself and it became massive !!

At this years BRIT awards she was nominated in 7 categories (a record) and won 6 of them (another record) - Breakthrough Artist, Best Artist, Best R&B Artist, Best Songwriter, Best Song (Escapism) and Best Album (My 21st Century Blues). Last week she picked up an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter Of The Year. After years of being trapped in a toxic record label deal she went independent and boy has she stuck two fingers up to Polydor.

I'll say! She is a rising star, without a doubt!

@@YourOnlineSingingCoach Incidentally she went to the Brit school. That one school is responsible for a tonne of talent. Raye, Adele, Imogen heap, Amy Winehouse, FKA Twigs, Jessie J, Katy Melua, Leona Lewis, Olivia Dean, Lola Young and loads more.

You MUST watch the whole concert, it gets even better. Brit Awards 2024 Royal Albert Hall London. English girl who swept the board. She has shocked the world.
@pplor256 ай бұрын
she was suppressed by her label for YEARS and made her only make dance music, and made her sell her songwriting to other artists, she's written for the likes of beyonce, jlo, etc. She was forced to go on a social media campaign to free her from the label as she was signed for 5 albums and she wasn't allowed to even release a thing. She broke free and wrote a whole beautiful album and became the first woman to win Songwriter of the year at the Brits, and the first person in general to be nominated for 7 brit awards and win 6 of the 7! She is a queen! Highly recommend her medley performance at the brits !!

Her songs have so much truth and felling in them, I strongly suggest you give her others a listen. She makes me cry on every other song. ❤

Raye did a repeat of this show with the full orchestra and choir at the O2 Arena earlier this year and I was lucky enough to be working on cameras for it. I already liked her music, but hearing her in person is something else! Definite career highlight for me was getting to record as she held that impossibly long note, and I was also lucky enough to briefly meet her - amazing woman and fascinating artist. She's just got to be one of the big names of the decade ahead!

What I loved about this performance was before she sang and afterwards. It was like she was surprised to be there. It seemed so innocent joy. But she was on point when singing.

That performance is outstanding and the confidence, sass and attitude it got the hairs on my arms tingling. This is the first time I've seen her and I don't know what she normally sounds like, but I'm getting Shirley Bassey levels of passion and presence

Hey Juliet, you made my day with your wonderful reaction, thanks a lot! RAYE's not come to play, she means business, a beautiful songbird who spent ten years of her life in a rusty cage finally broke free and now is roaming the sky in excitement and we are lucky to be able to witness her flying up to the goddesses of vocal performance where she truly belongs... I'm quite new to RAYE as well, but since I discovered her three weeks ago I'm literally obsessed with her and find it hard to watch anyone else, even my favorite artists so far, like Angelina Jordan, Haley Reinhart, Diana Ankudinova, Mon Laferte are not able to draw me in like she does... Part of it may be her novelty factor to me, but after three weeks of conscious listening to almost all Raye I could get my fingers on I know for sure that like the before mentioned she has come to stay with me for the rest of my life, her stylistic fluidity, vocal prowess, songwriting mastership, and honest, authentic and emotional performances are hard to top by anyone... I'm very much looking forward to see more of RAYE on your channel in the future, we will have a lot of fun! And shared tears as well... Next you could react to the medley she performed at the Brit Awards where she just won a record of six categories simultanously (first woman ever to win "Songwriter of the year"...) - Peace and love from Bavaria!

Great summing up from such a new fan ! Raye is working her way through reactions and vocal coaches slowly across the world and blowing them away of course. Hey hope you managed to watch the whole Royal albert Hall concert as it's truly special and blows Adele's RAH away IMHO. Its on BBC I player

@@BriMakesComments Thank you! In case you're interested: Just one hour ago a reactor-friend from Nigeria uploaded her second reaction to her, OWT live (first was BA medley), another great reaction. Gracie is not a professional singer or vocal coach, but she's feeling music deeply and is very expressive in her mimics and gestures, I really like her channel, and oc I've made her a new fan in no time, more to come... Hope you'll like her, search for "Gracie reacts" today... Have a great day and enjoy it! Peace and love from Bavaria!

I once watched Raye’s Tiny Desk Concert… and I instantly felt in love ❤ and I managed to see her live this year in Warsaw. What a voice, what an easygoing personality 🥰 the complexity of her songs reminds me Freddie Mercury’s compositions ⚡️ she will be huge and she absolutely deserves it!

I can remember a few months ago watching the same performance and being blown away. I went out and bought the live performance on vinyl and i didnt even have a record player at the time 😂. As other people have mentioned react to her medley performance on The Brits its unbelievable. Never expect the same performance with Raye twice she always mixes it up somehow. Fantastic reaction by the way those tears in your eyes at the end, you didnt need to say anything x

Thank you for reviewing my other current favorite singer besides Faouzia. Raye is so exciting. Every song of hers is equally good too. She’s been blowing up the scene lately, especially at award shows! Giving the best performances of the night everywhere she goes! She also won a truckload of awards a couple of months ago. She’s becoming a big star and the reaction scene has been giving her a lot of love lately! Nice to see you join the train! And yes, holding notes is something she does!
