I remember whenever he first performed this song. He haden't come out yet and he had a beautiful girlfriend shes a star in spanish speaking countries. She was interviewed after he performed she had this bitter sweet reaction saying she knew in that moment that ricky didn't belong to her but he belonged to the fans and the music. Now knowing he was a gay man I'm sure that statement went so much deeper! It was a sad interview because like I said I know that statement went much deeper and she wasn't angry just happily sad at the same time he looks like he's a awesome human!!! 💃💃💃 Livin' La Vida Loca!!!!

Ricky was one of the coaches on our Australian version of The Voice, and he was one of the loveliest, kindest people on our tv's during his stint. He'd always be at the stairs helping women in their high-heels walk off the stage; when he filmed his second season they even moved his chair so it was closest to the stairs, within moments he'd be there to chivalrously help a girl make her graceful exit on his arm. It was so adorable!!!

Ricky Martin started off in an internationally known boy band called "Menudo" in the 80s, then went on to star in the #1 Soap Opera General Hospital. This song is from his super successful solo career. This song was EVERYWHERE. I used to wake up for work every morning, and while getting ready listen to this song and dance. Lol. Ah, the 90s...

This song was huge the year it came out. I was 10 and VH1 played the music video every morning at the same time, which was the exact moment when we should have been leaving for school. I have memories of being glued to the kitchen TV watching it while my mother and sister waited in the car and being slightly behind schedule as a result.

So glad you FINALLY reacted to this Ricky Martin tune - I was one of those who suggested it! The 1st time I heard this song on the radio (years ago) - I stopped what I was doing to pay full attention and dance to it. The horns knocked me out! The lyrics are unusual - almost like a country song the way he tells the story. I went out and bought the DC the very next day. So glad you liked La VIda Loca. Ricky Martin has more dance tunes you should hear. Yes, he is Latino - started in a successful boy band as a kid, then became a TV actor on a soap opera, before his solo music career. He performed this tune one year at the Grammy Awards! That performance was electric, too!
