This medley is made up of parts of 6 songs and then The Spirit of Radio. The songs are Finding my Way, Anthem, Bastille Day, A Passage to Bangkok, Cygnus X1 and Cygnus X1 Part 2: Hemispheres. Check out Headlong Flight from the final album Clockwork Angels.

I agree... Headlong Flight is a total banger. Of course live is always best with Rush

Looking deeper: 1. Fly by Night - first song on 1st album 2. Anthem - first song on 2nd album 3. Bastille Day - first song on 3rd album 4. Passage to Bangkok - first song on 4th album, Side 2 5. Cygnus part 1 - last song on 5th album, last song, side 2 6. Cygnus part 2 - first song on 6th album 7. Spirit of Radio - first song on 7th album In other words, they covered their first 6 albums- playing 1 minute of each song (total of 6 minutes). Then led off with the first song of their 7th album to start the concert.

It's a medley consisting of one song from each of their first 6 albums that flows into Spirit of Radio from their 7th. They have to condense things down where they can to fit in all the hits,fan favorites & new material. I mean, the show only last for about 3 hours, after all. 🤣🤣

Another great Rush reaction, Munroe! We all think it's time for Xanadu Exit Stage Left. Try and find the version with lyrics so you can understand the story Neil created from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's 1797 poem, Kubla Khan. We are ready and waiting!

I loved your reaction. I'm a Rush fan for 40 plus years and you totally get it. I do tons of Rush reaction videos and I'm so glad that so many younger generations see the brilliance that they bring to the table. Keep it up.

Yes, it's a medley of several songs. "How many drums does my man have back there?" He's got all the drums. :) As someone familiar with the drums, you NEED to see Niel's solo from Frankfurt!

How many Drums does he have back there? ALL OF THEM. But seriously, Neil Peart (pronounced peert) is your favorite drummer's FAVORITE Drummer! During the intro, the keyboard section was played by the Bass player with his feet. Geddy is freaking unreal.

The last two song segments they do before The sprit Of Radio are from Cygnus X-1 Book 1: The Voyage and Book 2: Hemispheres; if you'd like to see both parts in their entirety, I recommend the comic book videos, which include the lyrics, adding up to a total of 30+ minutes that will completely blow your mind!!! 🎤 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥

Great reaction Greatness intro into their best song. RUSH fans HATE when Rush does this because RUSH fans DEMAND the ENTIRE song be played EVERY time…..a good example of this pomposity is when someone reacts to 2112 in RIO; which is Rush best performance of a song EVER…

You can tell reactors are faking it when you give them a song that should make no sense and they pretend to like it. Unless you're hardcore enough to know every deep-dive classic Rush song this medley has, its appreciation value should be entirely lost to you. This song wasn't meant as an introduction to Rush song, it was meant as a nod to the already die-hard fans.
@kylelooper21562 жыл бұрын
Not sure that this is fair. One can appreciate Rush's musicianship without being familiar with the sings themselves.

I'm a huge fan of Rush. Been listening since 1980. So you're saying that I can't like the snippets of Cygnus X-1 in the intro because I've never actually heard it prior to seeing it performed at this concert? After watching this reaction and reading the comments, this is literally the first time I've understood that the minute or so preceding "The Spirit of Radio" was from Cygnus X-1. It's definitely Rush, though, and so I don't need to "pretend to like it." I think it's fantastic for the same reasons I think other Rush music is fantastic: the songwriting is complex, the performances are impeccable, and Rush masters, like few others, the art of being surprising while simultaneously being as familiar as a best friend.
