One of the greatest ballads of the 80s, Still Loving You by the Scorpions has been a fan favorite since it debuted in 1984. In this Alexis and Burch get into a spirited conversation about the necessity and purpose of mix tapes. Scorpions were a true radio and concert staple through the 70s, 80s and 90s.

It makes a big difference to know who/what the band is, at what point in their careers they are, what they meant to the particular music scene at the time, etc.. Looking forward to more!

Holy Crap! This was my go-to song in the 80's and still brings a tear to my eye when I hear it. So many breakups. Such a powerful song. Alexis is such a gorgeous girl and her describing her recount of how she rejected men by swiping left or simply destroying a suitor's tape in an instant without any second thought reminds me of how a cat plays with a mouse and the mouse is in dire peril and about to be eaten and she is thoroughly enjoying it. Burch's reaction to the song is more in line with how I feel when I hear it and seems very authentic. Keep up the good work, you two.

I am with you Burch!!! I never sent any mix tapes to ex girlfriends but snapping a high quality painfully crafted Maxell mix tape in half must be a felony offense somewhere. I just kept my mix tapes and played them until the oxide failed or the tape broke. That is a whole separate level of breakup!!! By the way, I would call this a power ballad. I think that was a creation of the 80s.

Burch, if it is any comfort, I'm a few years younger than you, so spent my formative years before the internet and blocking, and whilst at University my main romance got 2 x mix tapes from me, whilst we were together, not apart I might add. She abruptly broke things off, much to the consternation of her parents who had no idea what she was doing. I wrote her letters (no cell phones of course in those days), and whilst she did admit later that she never read any of them and just threw them out, she did keep the mix tapes. Ironically a few years later, she it would appear, played those tapes pretty much on repeat, and was the reason we got back together. No happy ending sadly, another 6 months down the line, and she ran for the hills again for the last time, never to return, but the mix tapes were instrumental in us at least having a second go of things.

Saw them in the summer of 1984 on the Love At First Sting tour ( I was 17 at the time) in Toronto, Canada 39 years ago but still one the best shows I have ever seen got 4 bands on the ticket that night I only remember 3 of the bands Canadian Rocker Helix, Quiet Riot, and one other band I want to say Kick Axe maybe and of course the headliners the Scorpions all for under 25 bucks. The band released a double live album of the 1984 world tour called World Wide Live and is one the best live albums ever released. Yes, Klaus does play he plays rhythm guitar on "Coast to Coast" as someone has said below.
