You might like another Scorpions song “Winds of Change” which I understand was written after the band had been to the USSR and it was apparent that the government of the Soviet Union might fall, which it did in December. 1991.

Rudolf Schenker is one of the guitarist for the Scorpions and had been there from the beginning. His younger brother Michael Schenker was also with the band when they made their first album (he was 16yo). Then he left and joined UFO (Rock Bottom, Doctor Doctor, Lights Out in London). The brother Michael Schenker was Randy Rhoads (Ozzy’s guitarist) favorite guitar player and he was the reason Randy played the V guitar.

I went to see The Scorpions on Tour in Dortmund a few weeks ago and eventhough Klaus is 75 now I was surprised at the quality of his signing at his age. He might not hit those super high notes anymore, but man a 3 hour concert at his age was more than impressive - loved every minute of it!

Music like this in the day wasn’t so much the lyrics sometimes it was the sound. This was an awesome song and all about the sound. Most great Rock bands had amazing “power ballads” that left the audience memorized. I am 52, trust me 😮.

This song actually has double meaning it’s referring to the Berlin Wall which can only get torn down with love and he also sings about his love for world even with all that messed up political shit that was and is happening. Yeah it's a power ballad all right. But there are power ballads and then there are 80s power ballads (this song is from 1984). The 80s gave us some of the best music ever (unfortunately also some of the worst). But nothing beats 80s power ballads and this is among the top-2 or top-3 of them all (depending on personal preference). Unfortunately this is the truncated version, the original is almost twice as long and contains more amazing guitar solos and more singing. But it's funny to see: In literally every reaction video, people raise their eyebrows after about 10 seconds of Klaus starting to sing.
