The angels that disobey God, they deserve it.
@howiedavis23162 жыл бұрын
Guitarist Daron Malakian, who wrote it with lead singer Serj Tankian, explained: "The song is about how when people die, they will be regarded differently depending on the way they pass. Like, if I were to die from a drug overdose, everyone would say I deserved it because I abused drugs, hence the line 'Angels deserve to die.'"It occurred to me how we are judgmental towards people, even in death,” explains Daron. “If someone died in a car accident, you’d say, ‘Oh, poor thing.’ But if they died in a car accident while they were drunk, that would change your whole perception of how they died, and judging his or her death a in a different way. The speaker wakes, and the song begins. The verse takes on the structure of someone narrating a person’s (‘your’) morning routine-they wake up, put on their makeup, head to the table (for breakfast, etc). However, the overall tone of disjointedness and aggression of the verse signals to the listener that there is more to this routine than meets the eye. "Grab a brush and put a little makeup (A little bit) Hide the scars to fade away the (Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup)" A further complication to the “morning routine,” the singer equates putting on makeup with putting up fronts and armor every morning to hide mental scars and insecurities from other people. I hope this helps some

Early 2000's nu-metal had a lot of hip hop influence. the genre gets a lot of shit for being weird but I can appreciate it for doing something different because metal was really getting stale in the late 90's. Nowadays metal and alternative rock is even more influenced by hip hop with bands like Polyphia.
@Nicolos117 Жыл бұрын
It’s the best genre imo. Slipknot, limp bizkit, System of a Down, Deftones, 10 years, linkin park, Chevelle, korn, breaking Benjamin, finger eleven, cold and tons of other bands all have made nu metal songs bruh it ain’t weird it’s cool

A fun fact about this song. The story goes that they didn't know what lyrics to use for the verse in the song that goes "why have you forsaken me", so they got them randomly picked out of a random book and page they picked out of a book shelf. It's one of the best parts of the song and was completely chosen at random.

i think the meaning of the song is that often people who die from drug abuse are seen as reckless and selfish by society when in reality people who deal with so much turmoil in their life where they see no other option dealing with it than reaching to drugs. so when people dont care about drug addicts dying because they were being 'reckless and selfish' i think thats what the line: "i cry when angels deserve to die" means
