Prison song. DAM. DAM DAM DAM DAM. "They're trying to build a prison". DAM. DA DA DA DAM. I smiled. And bought it. I experience it over again as if for the first time... It's really hard to pick songs out of their catalogue to recommend, as they're all so incredible - and they only have 4 albums, with the last being a double album, so I tell everyone to do a deep dive. Definitely among my top 3 or 4 all time bands.

Been listening to them for a decade and heard Chop Suey thousands of times….the bridge STILL gives me goosebumps. The lyrics, the delivery, the emotion. Perfection. My recommendation: Sugar. Or BYOB. Or radio/video. All great.

I trained my self to play drums to this band. Played in 2 bands my self. As well they are a fantastic group. They broke up because of payment and creative differences. They recently came back together to put out an album for things going on in their home country. A lot of their songs are about the establishment, government, etc. Their songs are truly unique. You have to listen to more songs to really get a feel for their talent and ability. Their songs came out when bush was in office, but agreeing with another comment, listen to arials, toxicity (one of my favorites to play), hypnotize is also a good one. If you want to get into one of their more trippy songs, sugar is a good one.

Singing with these guys in my car has been one of the greatest escapes of my horrible life. Mesmerize/Hypnotize is 75 minutes and 46 seconds of pure joy. I love that I can pick either part to sing too. Sometimes you want to be Daron; Sometimes Serj. One of the most unique things SOAD does is those elongated harmonized notes. Examples: "You... you went beyond, and you lost it all. Why did you go *theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere?"* "Every time I look in your eyes, every day I'm watching you die. All the thoughts I see in you about how I... IIIIII-IIIII-IIIIIIII-IIIIIIIIIII-IIIYYY!" "...a sad Statue of Liberty, and a generation that didn't agree. Generatioooooooooooooooon!"
