Taeyeon's voice is what got me into kpop when I first listened to SNSD's song Genie back in 2009. Taeyeon is a generational talent and one of the most amazing Korean artists. I've been fortunate enough to have seen Taeyeon live and that was one of the best concerts that I've been to. Taeyeon's live vocals is like a tsunami that just hits you. And yes! SNSD are making a comeback this week for their 15th Anniversary! And Taeyeon is the main vocalist and leader of the group.

I'm fairly new to Taeyeon myself, but holy moly the songs that sucked me in were "Hate That..." which is a song by KEY (of SHINee) that she featured on, "Can't Control Myself" and "INVU"... I don't follow a lot of the girl groups and only a few female soloists, but those three songs are literal PERFECTION.

Just like You I hadn't known anything about Taeyeon until GOT - "Stepback" was released. I have loved her voice since then and listened to many songs. I personally think that her cover of Adele's "When we were young" in Begin Again in Berlin is much better than Adele's herself.😀

people needa appreciate taeyeon more! i love how there are more and more non korean speaking people checking out korean music and amazing singers like taeyeon. back then some 10+ years ago only a few people around me actually followed korean music, i did listen to a few songs but never really invested any time in it, im not a korean speaker. if girl generations is born in this era they would really blow up, they were funny with great skills and personalities...but of course if they were born in this era they wouldn't be the mother of all girl groups and kpop legend that they are.

She's an amazing vocalist. I suggest checking out "INVU" by her. It's newer and a favorite of mine. I don't think I've heard anything from Taeyeon that isn't amazing though. Haha. As for artist suggestion: I highly suggest checking out Lee Hi. She's got a great soulful voice and I just love her music so much. For her, I'd suggest: Breathe, HOLO, ONLY, or Rose. After that, I'd suggest checking her Killing Voice performance. Non-kpop reaction I will suggest is My First Story (singer is Hiro and is Taka's little brother) [I may have mentioned it in a prior OOR video]. Also an amazing vocalist. He did a First Take version of their song "Hyena" that I think is absolutely well done.

Her most recent comeback, INVU, was my first Taeyeon mv and I was hooked instantly. It's got kind of a dark synthwave vibe. You'll find out Taeyeon can do any style. Then she released a Killing Voice studio performance where she sang highlights from her solo catalogue. Watching that was like, ok, amazing vocals, yeah, but damn she's got an incredible discography too!

I don't know if you'll see this since this vid was published a month ago but Verbal Jint created the rhyme scheme for Korean raps. He had a HUGE impact on the rap scene. Also, Taeyeon and IU are my FAV Korean vocalists!
