A lot of people still think of Taylor as a young girl singing Love Story or Shake it Off. It’s like she’s been frozen in the public image as a forever teenager. But she’s a grown woman in her 30’s making mature, intelligent music. You should check out her Midnights album, particularly Lavender Haze and Anti-Hero. And from Folklore, the song Cardigan.

lol that would be me! I think because those are the songs that went everywhere!! They were unavoidable and in my face, now that her music is different I think I missed this new ears shift

@@YBMJETT New to your channel, loving these reactions! I think you would LOVE 'Vigilante Shit.' It's the epitome of grown-up Taylor, with some really great sexy lyrics.

This performance is always my favorite reaction video. It never disappoints. It never got radio play. Unfortunately, most of her singles & hit songs turn people off to her music & make them not want to dig further. "Popcorn songs" as you call them. She calls them "glitter gel pen songs". There are a lot of other live performances that are just magic - a lot have been suggested here. If you want to really dig in and find out who she is as an artist, I'd recommend staying away from her hit songs/singles. Would love to see you react to Cornelia Street & Death By a Thousand Cuts from the Lover in Paris concert. Just Taylor, her guitar, and a room full of adoring fans.

ABSOLUTELY!! I agree 1000%!! I’m doubling down on your suggestion! ✨Cornelia Street✨ ✨Death by a Thousand Cuts✨ Live from Paris was a whole out of body experience for me! I’ve always said “Taylor + 1 instrument” holds so much power that ppl don’t even realize!! Ofc I love EVERYTHING from REP Tour but there’s something so special about the aforementioned songs. It’s like when you watch those, you know you’re seeing something special. And especially connecting with the songs in so many different ways is just something I’ll never forget!! She is absolutely the most prolific songwriter ever (imo)lol. So YESSS, ofc AFTER “I did something bad” from Rep Tour PLEASE consider our suggestions! You won’t be disappointed. Keep shining my guy✨ @willow.1989✨🫶🏻✨ Love it that we think alike!💜x

@@Carolina_Girl_ There's something about her when it's just Taylor and an instrument. I love all the big production stuff but the intimate acoustic songs are where it's at for me. 💗

I’d also suggest the 2014 Live Grammys performance of All Too Well. Very different side of Taylor, but another performance that knocks it out of the park.

One thing that I've enjoyed as I've become a new Swiftie is the way she isn't afraid to dip her toe into different genres. She isn't afraid to try new things and take risks. Someone who can go from writing songs like Don't Blame Me and Ready For It to writing songs like My Tears Ricochet and Peace is simply a genius. I think she's the best poet of our time. I'm just waiting for the rock album now.

The older Tay gets, the better she gets. The re-records are so much better, arguably, than the originals, and seeing her live will always be better than anything on vinyl. Please react to ERAs.

1:58 i think reputation was about the time she was kinda “cancelled” so it wasn’t very secuccfull for the public and radio but Stillwater the best selling album that year cause of the fans now the public re-discovering this album and with the re-record i think its doing great

My favorite part about being an actual swifty or a swifty in general at this point I suppose, is that what made Taylor such an amazing artist was her albums. the best songs on every single one of her albums, except maybe her first 1, we're not made into singles. so if you didn't listen to the album, You didn't even know these songs existed. And then you're just sitting over here in heaven. Listening to Taylor's albums and nobody else even knows. I don't know if I miss being the only person who knew about all too well. Or if I liked the fact that all too well has the recognition that it deserves. I have not decided on that. that song was always my favorite Taylor Swift song. The lyrics hit me so deeply. All that to say, all of Taylor's best songs were never singles. except cruel summer. That song got it's day in the light like it should have!

Super great reaction, Check out the "I Did Something Bad" live performance Awards show. "Look What You Made Me Do" is a song mostly about spilling the tea on Kanye West and his now ex-wife Kim editing a recording that Kanye made when he called Taylor asking her how she felt about him mentioning her in his song "Famous" at any rate when the song came out, Taylor spoke up immediately, the lyrics that she objected to were "I made that b!tch famous". Kim posted the edited recording on social media and started calling her a liar and a snake. Soon after Taylor received a lot of hate, Taylor disappeared for about a year. From that drama came Reputation and the song Look What You Made Me Do. About 3 years ago someone leaked the original call, Kanye had even filmed himself making that call and was grinning when he filmed it. Kanye is Bipolar, but what he did to Taylor was pure meanness. "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"

This album came out after she was demonized in the press because of Kanye and Kim and the edited phone call they put out, she was called a snake and a liar and went into seclusion for 18 months and came out with this killer album, then about a year after the real phone call got released in its entirety and she was vindicated.

I'm excited to watch this one! Found your channel based on the last Taylor reaction that you did. Subbed for more Taylor Swift content!!! 🎉 I will say that most of what I consider to be her best songs from Reputation--like "Don't Blame Me" and "Getaway Car"--weren't released as singles, so they really didn't get any airplay on the radio. As you continue on through Taylor's catalog, you'll probably find that your favorite songs are ones that were never released as singles. No shade to the songs that she did release as singles, but a lot of them were so overplayed that most people form an opinion about her artistry based on what they've heard on the radio. And it goes SO much deeper than that. That's why I get frustrated with people when they say that they don't like her, based on what they've heard on mainstream radio. Her catalog is so diverse and she has something for literally everybody. P.S. - If you really want to dive into some of her more personal lyrics, I would highly recommend checking out the 10 minute version of "All Too Well", which is from the album "Red" (Taylor's Version) -- particularly the lyric video, so you can really digest her skill as a songwriter. The original song was condensed to 5 minutes, but she made the mistake of mentioning in an interview once that it was originally 10 minutes long. Fans begged her for the 10 minute version for years, and just when we thought we would never get it, she released it on the re-record of "Red". It's widely considered to be her best, most vulnerable song (although, she has plenty more lol). And then, eventually, I would recommend checking out the "All Too Well" short film, to see how well it matches up with the visual that she paints in your mind with the song alone.

Taylor started doing musical theater at around 9 years old and then started taking guitar lessons at 10 or 11 years old. She’s always been a theater kid and that’s really prominent in all her performances. A good example is her performance of her country hit single “Our Song”, Back To December/Apologize(One Republic)/You’re Not Sorry” mashup “Haunted” “Dear John” “Speak Now” world tour in 2011.
