People seem to forget that everyone grows up and matures. Taylor hasn’t been doing teenager type music for nearly a decade. Her most recent album, Midnights, is synth pop with lots of beats. There are some fun songs but she’s in her 30’s now and it’s an adult piece of work.

My favorite from her so far is still Blank Space. Not edgy, but not boppy either - more adult and very self-aware. I'm sure you've heard Bad Blood, but the video is fun and I think you'll like it. I get it. I'm late to the party too. Some people don't understand those of us that are older and didn't follow Taylor or her catalog still think about her being 19-20. She's in her 30s and has only gotten better with age. I always knew she was a talented artist that wrote her own music and sold out stadiums, but I never gave her a serious check out. Yeah, well...the 16 year old music was from a 16 year old....she' 's 34 now....and she's been treated really badly by alot of nasty boys/men, along with a lot of mean people trying to pull her down....and her music has evolved ....her songs covers a lot of tastes today...she has a huge fan base of all ages....in her concerts in the audience you seen mothers and grandmaother with their kids...and even fathers with their daughters enjoying... none of her videos are cheap....they're very creative and involved.

The song My Tears Ricochet (Long Pond version is superior IMO) is not this kind of music BUT the lyrics in it are completely brutal and I think you'd greatly appreciate. It's about the first label she signed with, how they owned her master recordings, didn't let her buy them, and sold them to her 'enemy' after a falling-out. 'If I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?' A ballad, but one about revenge after heartwrenching betrayal.
