Fantastic band! Their song "Woman in Chains" is a great one to check out. "Everybody wants to rule the world" was probably their biggest hit. They were super creative with clever lyrics.

One of my favourite bands from being kid in the 80s.. Roland and Kurt are still doing their thing.. And sending a message with this song to everyone in the world... 🙏🏻🩵

These guys had quite a few hits, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Mad World. It would be cool to give that one a listen, then follow that with Gary Jules cover of it. Two dramatically different versions of the same song.

Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in Bath in 1981 by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, Tears for Fears were associated with the synth-pop bands of the 1980s, and attained international chart success as part of the Second British Invasion And Yes They Catalog is worth Looking into , I have some More for you to Check out from them : Everybody wants to Rule the world , Shout Shout, Mad World, Head over heels, Woman in Chains, ... please check them out You Won't be Disappointed

Definitely homage to the Beatles. Great song. thanks for reviewing.
@KingLeo-ng5tc3 ай бұрын
The song is a throwback to '60s nostalgia (big in the late '80s) with a nod to The Beatles and a kind of Flower Power philosophy to it, including political lyrics starting with "High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man" and ending with "An end to need and the politics of greed." Written by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, the lyrics in this song are a byproduct of Orzabal's interest in psychology and philosophy - he cites Sartre's Les Mains Sales and Arthur Janov's Primal Scream as literary influences. The song is a call to action, asking us to reject the status quo: "High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man."

@NatReacts_ Probably their biggest hit. And all their songs sound COMPLETELY different from each other. Talk about diversity! They are crazy talented. They discovered Oleta Adams, one of the best female R&B singers in the game.

I know a lot about this band. One of my favorite bands ever. IMO they wrote songs to bury or celebrate another band they loved and always did it better. Ive heard them celebrate Michael Jackson and the talking heads in their poetry. This song buried Pink Floyd for me. You should hear them cover Radiohead creep.

What is this video about, is there a political message behind this music video? Don’t know if it is to awaken all sheep or to awaken sleeping lions? Or perhaps to awaken to the fact that the world has permanently and irretrievably lost its mind, from an overdose of two deadly poisons avarice and greed?

They have so many hits. Personally, I dont like this song. I saw them live in Los Angeles about 10 years ago and they stole the show. They sounded better live than they do in the studio. Check out their songs "Change" as well as "Break It Down Again". And of course their mega hit "Mad World".
