Excellent song by the Allman Brothers. When it came out in the 70's (and still today) I envision either a guy on a horse or on a Harley. Either way, it's haunting. The SILVER DOLLAR was minted in 1794. Still in use, but MANY are collectible.

Now, dollars are paper, but there used to be dollar coins. Lots of silver dollars from the 1890's or the 1920's. It was very common. There were half dollar coins, too. And gold coins worth much more than a dollar. There was even a thing called the half-dime. Money used to be so interesting.

Someday, you'll need to see the documentary Muscle Shoals, which is about the recording studio in Alabama where a ton of the best music of the 20th C was made. The Allman Brothers found their footing there, even though the boss didn't see it. Other people who made amazing music there include Aretha Franklin and Percy Sledge. It's a must watch that will change the way you think about American music.

There was a time when music mirrored human emotions: joy, happiness, pain, heartache, passion, love, etc... It doesn't seem to be that way anymore. So, I wonder - did we have those emotions because of the music, or was the music the way it was because we were emotional beings? You hear a lot about people's feelings now, but there seems to be a definite lack of emotion. 😪

A silver dollar is a coin made of silver or a white metal with a face value of one dollar. The U.S. minted silver dollar coins between 1794 and 1935. However, silver dollars are worth more than their face value due to the value of their silver content. The price of a silver coin depends on its silver content and the price of silver, which is affected by demand and economic confidence.
